And he throws in the race card.

Pathetic.

If you read the entire piece he admits to the crap economy he's engineered.

he has always thrown the race card that is the only argument they have.

I can't believe I opened up your link and this was the 2nd sentence. I saw you quoted it but assumed it would be buried in the NY Times link.

Mr. Obama also argued that some of the scorn directed at him personally stems from the fact that he is the first African-American to hold the White House.

Obama has got to be one of the whiniest assholes in human history.

7 years of lies, failed progressive initaives and a disastrous healthcare law and disastrous foreign policy mistakes and all the critism against his administration is just because he's a black man.

Nice

1) What part of this is a lie?

2) How is this any different from saying "People voted for Obama because they want "free" things?

Obama thinks poorly of rednecks clinging to their sky-god and boom-sticks?

Isn't this..... older news?

However, good on him for at least publicly disagreeing with the Anti-Free-Speech crowd.

Obama's comments about Trump are fundamentally correct - Trump is exploiting fears and frustration of the individuals that mostly belong to the working class. After all, the primary benefit from the record setting economic growth experienced under Obama's tenure has gone to the wealthy. Most attempts by Obama to extend that wealth back to the middle class gets met with extreme resistance from a Republican party that simultaneously attempts to denounce Obama as turning the economy into "crap."

As for the race related comment, I would note that this appears to be some editorializing by the NY Times - although the statement would still be accurate regardless - here is the quote from Obama that prompted this aspect of the article.

If you are referring to specific strains in the Republican Party that suggest that somehow I’m different, I’m Muslim, I’m disloyal to the country, etc. — which unfortunately is pretty far out there, and gets some traction in certain pockets of the Republican Party, and that have been articulated by some of their elected officials — what I’d say there is that that’s probably pretty specific to me, and who I am and my background. In some ways, I may represent change that worries them.

It is clear, obviously, that Mr. Obama is referencing - in part - his black heritage here, but it is also fundamentally accurate to note that many - including Trump - have explicitly used Mr. Obama's background as a reason to attack him for allegedly not being loyal or, even more absurd, not being an American citizen.

when your entire record is one farcical error after another, you have to blame it on something

it CANT be YOUR fault

they didnt like me is as good as it gets

"it was because i was black" will resonate with the LIV, that in turn will vote for the for Hillary

and the parade of comedy will continue....

as long as there are democrats making promises of what they can give away....thy will buy the votes

Exactly. Even after showing his birth certificate, there was still some in the republican party that still refuse to believe that he was American yet will not even question Cruz. Hmmm what is the difference between the two?

However, good on him for at least publicly disagreeing with the Anti-Free-Speech crowd.

Here's the words as spoken during a 2008 campaign stop:
"They get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."

I don't read that as him thinking "poorly of rednecks" but rather Obama attempting to explain to a group of those 'educated elite' types just why it seems a segment of the population all too often votes for policies which actually cause them harm. It seems they do so simply because the politicians promoting such policies cover up the negativity by babbling about God and Guns and how important those two things are in making any decisions and never mind how hypocritical this makes the pol.

That from Obama is rich.

Pretty comical, isn't it? The race card is as pathetic as anything. Let me guess - when the Dems allow their appointed heroine Hillary back on the throne, we're going to have to listen to "They don't like me because I'm a woman!" **** like we've had to listen to Obama's ****.

He is a very pathetic and whiny man.

I don't know whether to laugh at Obama or feel sorry for his pathetic position.

The right has never considered him an effective President...the Independents have decided he's not worth their consideration anymore...and the left has moved on, mostly to Hillary. So pretty much nobody cares about Obama anymore, except that they wish he would stop talking and doing things. He's only making things worse and making the Democratic Party look bad.

Oh...and if Obama keeps up with his attempt to create a "global warming legacy", he's going to run into a buzz-saw named Al Gore. Trust me...NOBODY messes with Al.

We were in a recession... Obama can't get credit for something the markets do automatically.

But he gets criticized for turning it to "crap?"

As well as this:

He rejected critiques from Republican presidential candidates who have suggested “carpet bombing” the group, as well as the suggestion by Hillary Clinton, his party’s leading presidential candidate, that the United States establish a “no-fly zone” over Syria. He argued that doing so would require substantial ground troops and would fail to damage the Islamic State, which does not have an air force.

In other words, we can't defeat ISIS even with boots on the ground.

Still, the president said his administration had not done enough to explain its strategy and promote its successes in carrying it out.

Because he has no effective strategy to defeat them. His former top military and defense aids have stated that.

Strategy in promoting success? Its more like propaganda his base believes to be true.

But he gets criticized for turning it to "crap?"

Yea, the economy is crap relatively.... we are in bad shape and another recession is coming in the next 5 years or so and it could be another great depression. It's not so much what he has done it's what he hasn't done...he's not addressing the debt as he promised to, something he criticized Bush for. You remember the Stimulus?? That turned into a complete and utter disaster. It's really his lack of seriousness in addressing economic issues and how his political ideology influences otherwise sound economic principles. Government spending is continually going up and there is no leadership to stop it....

This is not something I ever expected of Obama, but he deserves criticism for it.

And he throws in the race card.

I'm on the edge of my seat waiting for Trump's response.
Seriously.
But until then ...
If you believe what Obama said, isn't he effectively confessing that as President he was useless to do anything about those "Demographic changes and economic stresses, including “flatlining” wages and incomes" that he was supposed to deal with?
Can't blame his incompetence on race, assuming he wanted to do anything to begin with.

And he throws in the race card.

A real man would admit to being a bigoted racist .. .. conservative

A real man would admit to being a bigoted racist .. .. conservative

You mean a real man would admit to being a bigoted racist .. .. liberal.

This thread is funny. In short: People vote for Obama cause he's black. Apparently nobody opposes him because he's black. This is why people don't take conservatives seriously when it comes to discussing race issues. Because of stupid positions like that.

Historically that takes a year or 2 to accomplish after a recession ... but 7 if you force fundamental change.

Historically there has never been a financial crisis or this size, scale, or scope.
