Intel officials confirm 'top secret' material in Clinton emails

Officials with the intelligence community believe a pair of emails included in a sample of Hillary Clinton's private messages reviewed earlier this year are indeed classified at the "top secret" level despite the State Department's insistence that the records were not so highly classified.

Both of the emails were top secret the moment they passed through Clinton's personal server, and one is still classified at that level to this day
A Politico report from early November suggested intelligence officials were prepared to walk back initial claims that the emails in question were top secret, but the new report indicated the intelligence community had made no such finding.
Instead, officials softened the designation of one of the emails while leaving the other at the top secret level, but reportedly left untouched their ruling that both were top secret when they were written.
State Department officials challenged the intelligence community's assessment of the two emails that triggered the FBI investigation, although sources told Fox the designation of the records was a "settled matter."

If this is true then she really could be in a pickle.

I doubt this will be a problem for her. Her supporters will just ignore it or make excuses. She has appeals to a level of society which has no real understanding of international politics, the law, or much else. They will see Clinton, or Democrat, and just vote.

These are not the best and brightest people America has to offer, but they are numerous.

Ohhh, if Obama doesn't step in to claim Executive immunity, then it shows he truly does hate her guts. I long suspected that he does.

yawn. I will need to see these e-mails to judge for myself. Without publication it is unsubstantiated rumor.

Yes about 99% of govt documents that are marked secret should not be. There are well over 1M people who have security clearance. Completely ridiculous .

Indeed. If these are indeed top secret documents then their must be a trial.
Indeed! And those Intel officials will have to testify at that trial and identify themselves for cross examination. Do it! ;)

As someone who spent a career working with classified information I agree the vast majority of information marked SECRET is over-classified. However, I have not found that to be the case with things marked TOP SECRET. The exception being emails generated on TS systems that automatically add the classification. In that case you will even have emails that just say, "Hey Joe, what are your plans for the holiday?" marked TOP SECRET or SECRET. That doesn't seem to be the case here.

If the Republican party hadn't turned into such a circus over the recent years I would say Hillary is in trouble. But they did and she isn't.

Doubt anything is going to happen from this. The key thing here is if the FBI has concluded there was a criminal violation or not, and so far no such violation has been presented by the FBI.

Meanwhile, CNN and the MSM don't care to even look into it.

Personally I think the "sent" or "received" distinction will prove a key point.

Incompetence and carelessness don't count, huh?

Didn't the latest Benghazi committee, or at least its leader, also release classified documents? Should also be a trial for him, in that case.

These are not the emails you're looking for.

Heck lets not stop there. Lois Lerner and numerous other culprits at the IRS need to be up on charges as well.

And continuing across the forum proving that you have zero knowledge on anything you post about.
First what we are talking about Tas not S. Finally what exactly do you think the number of people who have a clearance has to do with anything. Wait do you think that because you have a clearance that means you can see all the information that is classified at that level.
Talking about things you do not understand makes you look rather foolish.

If they can prove something, sure. But it sounds to me like they didn't really have anything concrete on Lerner. Circumstantial, perhaps. But I don't know if it was enough.

I think there is some teeth to this. My reasoning is this. The dissenting voices on this thread have all been, they don't believe it, the information was not top secret (well, maybe it was), the FBI hasn't said so yet, I don't care and it doesn't matter. Not one argument has been about right or wrong or offered any substantial argument in her defense.

If a person were to read the article they would note that the initial article came from Fox News. There wasn't one snarky remark about Fox News. That is pretty odd.

How will the left victimize themselves it comes out that the FBI thinks there should be charges? If there is a grand jury about the server, who is to blame? Will it be another Bush did it? The left really needs to throw this trash bag in the dumpster and go with Bernie. If they don't it is totally on the left.

Everyone knew that Lerner nor anyone else at the IRS was ever going to be charged by the Obama DOJ. Probably because it would have come out just how far up the chain the corruption went. She made 155 visits to the White House. Far more than any other head of the IRS. I don't think they were discussing college football.
