Obama speech aims to reassure a nervous nation

Yes, you would, but a reasonable person would not.

I do...and I AM a reasonable person. More reasonable, I suspect, than you.

But this thread is not about me or you.

So...let's stay on topic.

The way it works is, you make coherent statements about the security of the nation, you don't go off on some tangent about a left wing agenda that has nothing to do with the national security. And thus, reasonable people are nervous about our security with this guy at the helm.

Actually, the way it works is that the president gets to choose what he wants to talk about...and then does it.

If you do not like it...tune out.

I AM a reasonable person...and I am not nervous about our security with President Obama at the helm.

If one of those Republicans currently running is elected...

...I guarantee I will be nervous. If that happens, I would suggest you be nervous also.

Following precedent you would have less reason to be nervous under a Republican Presidency. Following 9/11 Bush vowed to keep Americans safe, and so he did. Obama cannot say the same.

If you would feel more safe with one of the people from the Clown Car in the Oval Office...fine.

I, on the other hand, would be nervous...VERY NERVOUS.

I get the feeling it doesn't take much to make you nervous..VERY NERVOUS.

Actually, it takes a great deal.

I doubt you got that "feeling" of yours from anything I wrote. I think it is a way of saying you disagree with my assessment of the Clown Car...without actually saying it.

Hey...whatever floats your boat.

Oh, now, c'mon Frank. You can't tell me that you don't understand what the concern is. Is that what you're saying? I spelled it out for you already.

I AM a reasonable person...and I am not nervous about our security with President Obama at the helm.
I'd have to conclude that you really don't care about our security then, with Obama doing a little as possible to control our boarders and keep our enemies from getting int the country. Did you see that they won't even look at their social media pages because of privacy concerns? Oh, what am I doing mentioning that, you are not concerned.

Yep, it's looking more and more like you don't care what actions they take, you just care if there is a "D" or an "R" next to their name. You've made that clear.

Reasonable...not so much.

Very reasonable.

Hyperpartisan.... Absolutely

Hyperpartisan...not at all. I am a capital "I" Independent. I am not partisan at all.

I just do not want the Republicans to get into the White House.

The only reasonable thing is to support the Dems. If the Greens could realistically do it...fine, I might support the Green Party candidate. Or any of the other splinter party groups.

In fact you said "I, on the other hand, would be nervous...VERY NERVOUS".

What do you have to be very nervous about?

And using the term "Clown Car" without specifics is meaningless, trite and substance free.

In fact you said "I, on the other hand, would be nervous...VERY NERVOUS".

Actually, the entire quote was:
If you would feel more safe with one of the people from the Clown Car in the Oval Office...fine.

I, on the other hand, would be nervous...VERY NERVOUS.

I consider that eventuality to be "a great deal." So I disagree with your suggestion "I get the feeling it doesn't take much to make you nervous..VERY NERVOUS."

What do you have to be very nervous about?

The Republicans...and the conservative agenda. I think they and it are abominations...that would make this country a less decent country.

And using the term "Clown Car" without specifics is meaningless, trite and substance free.

Perhaps this will give it substance.

Nah. You appear more interested in cartoons.

Point proven.... thanks.

Not sure why people like you take delight in claiming "victories" that do not exist...

...but it is hilarious to watch.

Dig that hole a little deeper. You might convince yourself soon, nobody else is buying it.

Like I said..."Not sure why people like you take delight in claiming "victories" that do not exist...but it is hilarious to watch."

Thanks, Gill!;)
