Attacker pledged allegiance to ISIS, officials say

So is your snark because some people don't jump to conclusions until the information comes out?
Would those people be the same ones that were absolutely certain the Colorado Springs shooter was inspired by the Planned Parenthood videos? Or that the Arizona shooting was inspired by Sarah Palins hit list or 'right wing radio'?

It doesn't matter what "ISIS wants". Should the media lie about her pledging allegiance to them? Cover it up?

If in fact this is fact, the citizens of this country have a right to know. If in fact this is fact, this was an act of terror on our soil in the name of ISIS, much as some people desperately want this to be "workplace violence". Even the media isn't covering for him. Maybe you want the truth buried so as not to puff up ISIS egos. I'd rather have the truth out there. I have a right to know.

It matters a lot what ISIS wants if we play into their hands.

What we know now is that this incident might have been inspired by ISIS.

Now, supposing that it was, how is our reaction different from what it would be if it's simply a couple of crazies?

ISIS wants us to believe that they're a lot more powerful than they actually are. Part of their strategy is to get the US involved in a ground war in the Middle East. The more of a threat we perceive them to be, the more likely it is we'll do what they want. If they can manipulate us through fear (terrorism), they will have influence far beyond their numbers and their actual power.

A strategy easily frustrated in the modern era. No boots on the ground, just drones in the sky hitting every target that even has a whiff of ISIS.

I don't know...maybe it's just me....but does that man do everything in his power to avoid admitting that ISIS is a problem and not a JV team? Unfortunately for him, this wasn't anti-government Republican supporters who did this. He would have jumped on that in a second.

I'm anxious to hear how he spins gun control into this, considering the bodies weren't cold 5 minutes and he was yakking about gun control.

Well in yesterday's White House press conference, Peter Doocy asked Josh Earnest: "Does the President really think that common sense gun laws would deter terrorists now that he has admitted that these two may be been terrorists?"

Josh Earnest replied: “common sense” gun laws will deter jihadists who are planning attacks.

That is the current strategy.
And yes, that's what we need to continue to do.

So you don't want it to come out that the killers pledged allegiance to ISIS because it will puff them out. You want it covered up? You seem very anxious to have this NOT be a terror attack. Interesting. I prefer to have the truth come out, not cover for....never mind, you'll deny it anyway,

It's okay for them to do that. You know, the Cambridge police acted stupidly, Benghazi was the result of a video...

All the more reason for Americans to be sufficiently armed, especially with Concealed Carry.

Oh my, sounds like he's jumping to conclusions. Gun control would have prevented this!

Obama is a mess these days. Amazing people still pant like dogs when he opens his mouth and speaks. Obama's so dreamy!

.. And they appear to be getting exactly what they want.
Turn the world against people they're slaughtering? Check that one off.
Cause a resurgence in fear of middle eastern people and Islam? Check that one off.

You people on the left sure know exactly what ISIS " wants ".

I'm just curious how you know ?

Lol...THIS narrative again ?
Who exactly is cowering in fear ? How is calling something what it is cowering ?

And what the terrorist WANT is more dead Americans.
At the end of the day I doubt they care one bit if we're actually intimidated.

I disagree a bit with this. I think their motive is of course more dead 'infidels', but they also cheer and glad hand each other when they force us into positions of fear and have us directing more and more resources to our security and otherwise disrupt our normal lives as much as possible. Terrorism is not geared just to maim, kill, destroy, though they want to accomplish as much of that as possible, but terrorists also intend to instill terror in the subjects they target and therefore destroy their quality of life as much as possible.

ISIS slaughters Muslims and is at war with virtually everything that doesn't fit into their extreme view. They almost certainly love it when we help to fuel the us vs them.

Not so. Let's have the truth come out.

But, let's not jump to conclusions and attribute to ISIS some power that they don't have, then over react.

I think Americans are more resilient than that and theres no excuse for trying to cover up the truth.
Like calling the two Muslims who murdered 14 people " nutters ".

... Why? A "whiff" of ISIS could include a building where one ISIS member resides and 40 innocent people..

Good incentive to not hang around ISIS folks.

Would those people be the same ones that were absolutely certain the Colorado Springs shooter was inspired by the Planned Parenthood videos? Or that the Arizona shooting was inspired by Sarah Palins hit list or 'right wing radio'?

If they jumped to those conclusions before the details were all out then no, it does not include them.

You mean reality. It IS us against them.

How do you know what ISIS wants and doesn't want ?

Can you link to any of their specific goals ? Or are you just perpetuating more of your toxic Progressive drool ?

no, my snark is just my snark.

Meanwhile, the whitehouse still is not calling it "islamic terrorism" or even "terrorism".

Note how he won't commit, just "possible"....

the only thing coming out of the administration is loretta lynch saying if we say muslims are bad, we can be prosecuted... (slight exaggeration)...

Loretta Lynch Vows to Prosecute Those Who Use 'Anti-Muslim' Speech That 'Edges Toward Violence' | Daily Wire

"The fear that you have just mentioned is in fact my greatest fear as a prosecutor, as someone who is sworn to the protection of all of the American people, which is that the rhetoric will be accompanied by acts of violence. My message to not just the Muslim community but to the entire American community is: we cannot give in to the fear that these backlashes are really based on."

The administration is more interested in coddling the islamic community and social justice warrrior issues than it is protecting the American people.

"We’re at the point where these issues have come together really like never before in law enforcement thought and in our nation’s history and it gives us a wonderful opportunity and a wonderful moment to really make significant change."

yeah, what a "wonderful moment", stupid idiot.

Are we Americans more resilent than that? We have to pay close attention to what we pack for trips on commercial flights, what we carry into a sports stadium, what we say in public, how we use the mail, and what we have to give up in privacy etc. so that we can have more security. All this because 'nutters' called Islamic jihadists have targeted us with mayhem, murder, maiming and made us far more suspicious and wary than we ever were before.

Any American, most especially those in authority, who do not see Islamic radicalism/Islamic jihadism as an unacceptable scourge with absolutely nothing to justify it, and who try to dismiss it as something else, are part of the problem and not part of the solution.

Not so. Let's have the truth come out.

Okay. Can you help me to understand where in this story anyone has attributed some power to ISIS that they don't have?

So you are saying that if it is confirmed that the attackers were ISIS loyalists the media won't call it ISIS inspired or radical Islamic terrorism?

media is saying "he was radicalized" like something was "done" to him, in essence making him a "victim".

The administration is more concerned with people saying bad things about islam than addressing the issue.
