Caley Godino is a senior at Revere High School and she said part of their homework was to watch the presidential debates and her tweet was simply about a hot-button issue in the headlines.

She needs to check her privilege! Good on the school for showing that cis-gendered white wymyn that she can't go about with her microagressions towards the oppressed! she needs to learn that with free speech comes a requirement to post in an inoffensive way at all times.

Perhaps one of our open borders posters can explain why her tweet was offensive or what the hell the district super is talking about here.

I probably fall into the category of what you'd call an "open border poster".

the super is an idiot, and completely mishandled this - assuming this is the only reason she was suspended from the team.

Her tweet was stupid, but stupidly kicking her off the stupid cheerleading squad for acting stupid is also stupid.



NOTE: Has the word "stupid" been used enough now, or should I edit this post some more? :mrgreen:

It's offensively ignorant, but I don't see a lot in that tweet to get concerned about except a lack of understanding of civics, and why turnout for city elections is low.

Appears the school system mishandled this. That article says there is more, but won't/can't say what it is, so we're all left to assume they're enforcing a pretty ludicrous speech code on students who are quite often ignorant of politics.

This is ridiculous. The PC police need to get a life. She could have tweeted blacklivesmatter kill da poleece all day and no one would have kicked her off the cheer team.

How does that make her a liar? The super is hinting that the full story isn't being told, just implying that without actually saying it. Maybe just covering her own lying ass. And it appears from other stories on this that the cheerleader has received multiple threats in response - no mention whether the people tweeting the threats are being punished.

Look, what we know about what she said is not covered under the school's exception from the First. The school and the community obviously has an illegal alien problem. Instead of going after those who say something about it - how about deporting the SOBs here illegally.

She wasn't banned only because of the tweet that's just her sensationalized side of the story that has you hooked.

Nope, your comment was filled with inaccuracies, demonstrating you neither read the thread nor looked into the case.

For instance, she wasn't expelled or suspended and she doesn't have to attend another school as you thought from your two minute analysis and dismissal.
