Ex-Benghazi investigator sues Trey Gowdy for discrimination and defamation

A former investigator for the House Benghazi Committee filed a federal lawsuit against the committee Monday, opening a new chapter in legal skirmishes over the Benghazi attacks and subsequent investigations.

Last month, Brad Podliska, an Air Force Reserve major, alleged the Benghazi committee terminated him based on his military obligations and his refusal to advance an agenda targeting Hillary Clinton. Now, Podliska is detailing those charges in court in a new filing that alleges Committee Chairman Trey Gowdy broke the law by defaming him in their public battle over Podliska’s firing.

Gowdy previously said Podliska was terminated partly for mishandling classified information.

The suit cites Gowdy’s claim from a press release and an interview with NBC News, and argues it was a damaging line of attack, since allegations of such a “serious crime” have “ended the careers of many professionals in national security-related industries.”

Wow...the Benghazi Committee has actually resulted in something new and interesting.

Finally.

An interesting development, but I doubt it will add any needed political effect to the committee's demise.

After the recent Secy Clinton interview day fiasco, and her subsequent political rise & rejuvenation due to it, I doubt we'll be seeing much activity of substance from Tres' committee in the near future.

The guy is a mental mess. I feel bad for him, and also for the fact that the left is using his problems as a political tool to attack the right. Sad.

That man's career is over no matter what. He will be able to get one in the civil rights industry though. So grab a golden parachute and look forward, is my advice.

Now why would you say such a thing about a veteran, a major in the AF Reserve and a "registered Republican"? Why do you think he can only get a job in the "civil rights industry"? Would that be because he is an honest person, unlike so many others of similar political persuasion.?
Podliska said he decided to come forward because the committee's skewed focus is detracting from the objective of uncovering the truth surrounding the deaths of four Americans, including U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens. "What happened was wrong," Podliska said.

"I'm scared. I'm nervous. I know that this is, you know, I'm going up against powerful people in Washington. But at the end of the day I need to live with myself," he said. "I told my wife, I will view myself as a coward if I don't do the right thing here."

He insisted that his claim is not politically motivated, explaining that he has long been a conservative Republican -- "more on the libertarian side" -- and plans to vote for the GOP nominee in 2016.

"I am going to vote for the Republican nominee in 2016. I do not support Hillary Clinton for president," he said.

Just because I'm a leftie doesn't mean I can't accept that SOME of those on the right are honest and moral people - I don't have to appreciate their political views but when one calls out fellow conservatives for lying about national security matters, then I will thank them.

Old news. Guy was fired because he was not performing. I will wait for the suit. He is trying to bolster his case by whining to the public and he found a sympathetic ear. This was out a month ago. There was already a thread about it.

Hillary's setting up a personal Email server for the explicit purpose of circumventing Congressional Commitee and FOIA Subpoena request was actually very interesting.

You can pretend that whole messy affair never happened but that's not going to make the FBI's investigation go away.

The problem is that he made trouble. Most people will see that and think that that is not what they want.

Er uh Beau, not only did you just create a narrative out of thin air that Podliska is mentally ill but you also ignore that two republican congressmen have admitted the 8th (yes 8th) benghazi investigation was nothing but a witch hunt.

and beau, gowdy's committee is doing exactly what every conservative poster at the forum does: accuse the other of exactly what they are guilty of

“In a statement, the committee cited Major Podliska’s “repeated efforts, of his own volition, to develop and direct committee resources to a PowerPoint ‘hit piece’ on members of the Obama administration, including Secretary Clinton, that bore no relationship whatsoever to the committee’s current investigative tone, focus or investigative plan.”

Yes, you read that right. Republicans are accusing him of trying to do a hit piece on the Obama administration and they republicans were shocked, SHOCKED that someone would try to do a hit piece on the Obama administration so they had to fire him. as a conservative who literally makes up magic facts to maintain your narrative, even you have to be amused by that.
