Yes... Bush did... but he did not have to. In the end, he went with the Security Council's first vote... when many said that wasn't sufficient or worded in a manner which allowed him to act. He acted.
It's not what the mob wants... and you as leader get in front of the nation and explain why. We know why now. Any fool with half a brain knew why in 2001.
But a perverted Goebbels-styled media, and an idiotic Leftist party have poisoned many minds. You don't follow the fools... but unfortunately with President Jeremiah Wright, we have the biggest fool at the helm
And I rebutted your defense of the Left and our Fool in the White House.
No... ISIS was post-Bush... and Obama let them flourish. What did Obama call them during the 2012 election??? Rrrrright... the JV Team.
That's beyond lame... a Hail Mary attempt... but unfortunately... you started by fumbling the snap... ran the ball deep in your end zone in an attempt to get away... and have been sacked behind the goal line.
Sounds very much like President Jeremiah Wright during the past 7-years. All yap... smoke... mirrors... devoid of honest substance... he was given the ball and fumbled it for 7-years.. now it's in our end zone... with his girly throwing arm and World View... we know what's coming next... and... it ain't pretty.
Why would a president seek UN approval for pre-emptive war, if it wasn't necessary. A chief reason the UN was created was to protect a nation from doing just that with out some sort of consensus from the world community.
And the will of 70% of Americans represents a mob to you when they oppose something that you want to do and are evidence of the democratic process when that number supports what you want to do.
Obama did advance policies that have been beneficial to the Islamic State, I've probably pointed that out far more often than you have. But, the Islamic State was born before you ever heard of Obama.
The group originated as Jama'at al-Tawhid wal-Jihad in 1999, which pledged allegiance to al-Qaeda in 2004. The group participated in the Iraqi insurgency that followed the March 2003 invasion of Iraq by Western forces. In January 2006, it joined other Sunni insurgent groups to form the Mujahideen Shura Council,
which proclaimed the formation of the Islamic State of Iraq (ISI) in October 2006.

The roots of the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham
The roots of ISIS go back to Oct. 15, 2006, when what is known as the Islamic State of Iraq (ISI) was established. That groups was formed by uniting several groups, most notably al-Qaeda in Mesopotamia, led by Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the Mujahedeen Shura Council in Iraq, and Jund al-Sahhaba [Soldiers of the Prophet’s Companions].
