Ted Cruz to Obama: '''Insult Me to My Face''' - NBC News

Sen. Ted Cruz had sharp words for President Barack Obama over his comments regarding Republican rhetoric on Syrian refugees, saying his statement "is utterly unbefitting of a president." "If you want to insult me, you can do it overseas, you can do it in Turkey, you can do it in foreign countries, but I would encourage you, mister president, come back and insult me to my face," the Texas senator and Republican presidential candidate said this on Capitol Hill Wednesday.
President Obama had harsh words for Republicans calling for a stop of Syrian refugees to the United States, saying such calls are just "political posturing."

What a total dweeb and embarrassment this man is. No, Mr. "Green Eggs and Ham"...you know what is "unbefitting"? Playing cowboy and trying to call the President of the United States outside to have a brawl.

Obama is 100% correct here....this IS political posturing on your part and it is irresponsible rhetoric that puts our troops and innocent people at further risk.

The actions/rhetoric of the GOP over the last week is not only shameful...it is completely Un-American.

Calling out the POTUS for a fight???? This is even low for him.

I have to say though....I would pay money to watch Obama clock Cruz once in the face. Cruz is exactly the type of smart-alec kid who needed a punch in the face and then disappeared and you never heard a peep from again.

But that's what sells to Red Meat Conservatives: tough He-Man talk. I can think of no better analogy than that of a particular Bugs Bunny cartoon where he quotes Teddy Roosevelt, "Speak softly and carry a big stick!", and Yosemite Sam retorts, "Well I speak LOUD! And I carry a BII-II-IIGER stick!"

And we all know how that worked out.

[/I]What a total dweeb and embarrassment this man is.

I agree. The lame duck portion of his term of office can't come soon enough.

It's un-American to criticize the sitting President?

It's un-American to criticize the sitting President?

No. Where did you get that? What is Un-American is allowing only "Christian" refugees into the US....having a religion litmus test for refugees. What is Un-American is giving into terrorists and giving them what they want, i.e., changing our standards and way of life in response to their actions. Please follow along.

obama is kind of wimpy though, you sure it would work out that way?

I have no doubt. Obama may be skinny...but he's probably the most athletic President that we have had for some time now. Cruz on the is just a pudgy big-talker. My guess is he would run away before Obama even got to the door.

Being the very embodiment of the kind of puerile divisiveness the President promulgated in his speech in Turkey I would think the usual suspects would find it acceptable for politicians to call each other out.

The vast majority of Americans think that being concerned about the Syrian refugees is simple common sense. To use the kind of rhetoric the President did to describe people who have such concerns is more than impolitic. It's just plain stupid.

Well, Obama has already decimated the Democratic Party in America. Might as well finish it off.

Okay. So what's un-American in your eyes is Cruz saying we should consider taking only the Christians from Syria. And he's not allowed to have his opinion? By whose definition is that "un-American"? I think a whole lot of people feel that way. I don't personally, but many do.

Of course he can have his opinion. It doesn't make it any less Un-American. Cruz has many Un-American opinions. I never said he isn't entitled to his ignorant views.

Where did you get this BS?

You just slurp up all that crap Obama spews without question, eh?

Muslims aren't being singled out, the Syrian refugees are.

Dishonesty does nothing for you.

Muslims come into the country LEGALLY at a clip of about 100k a year,

So wtf are you taking about?

Enacting a litmus test that rejects individuals because of their practicing religion is objectively un-american. The founders of our country intentionally rejected the notion of a State run government and codified it into law.

Agreed. Ted Cruz beating up on a girl can't possibly help his campaign.

Uh....no. Have you been paying attention to what we are talking about? Cruz and Huckabee both said that we should only allow "Christian" Syrian Refugees in. THAT is the subject of the thread. DOH!....so actually...it IS about muslims. Try again.

Eh....Baseball isn't really a game of great athleticism anyway....more a game of skill.

such athleticism!!!

looking at him, he doesn't evin lift, bro.

That's a completely sexist thing to say. I bet there are many "girls" who would whip your ass in a NY second. LOL.....

Be careful. You are about the embark down the slippery slope of tres' never-ending strawmen

First it was "It's un-American to criticize the sitting President?". That became "he's not allowed to have his opinion?" Who knows what comes next

I have to say though....I would pay money to watch Obama clock Cruz once in the face.
 The idea of Obama in a fist fight makes me laugh. I respect him as President of the United States, but I don't see him having any business being anywhere near a fist fight.
Okay. So what's un-American in your eyes is Cruz saying we should consider taking only the Christians from Syria.
It is.
And he's not allowed to have his opinion?
He is...doesn't change the fact what he says is in direct conflict with American values.
By whose definition is that "un-American"?
The 1st Amendment's?

 The idea of Obama in a fist fight makes me laugh. I respect him as President of the United States, but I don't see him having any business being anywhere near a fist fight. :

I think the same thing goes for most all politicians. Can you imagine Ted Cruz? Oy vey!

judging by the initial responses this appears to be red meat for liberals more than conservatives.
