Paris attacks: Isis militant said to be Syrian who passed through Greece on refugee route – live

The Syrian passport belonged to a refugee who passed through Greece, according to a Greek minister.

Well now we know at least one of the attackers was a Syrian refugee, Europes leaders were warned time and time again about the dangers of importing millions of people from an alien culture into the west and now unfortunately we have been proven right.

If this is true, I hope that the people and countries who have opened themselves up to refugees do not feel responsible for the deaths of the people who were killed last night. That would be an unfair burden to put on themselves. I also hope that people, in their grief, do not take this out on all of the innocent refugees who fled Syria and other places to escape this horror. That would be an unfair reaction.

That that route into Europe might be used to this purpose is no surprise, though, many politicians did try to shove the thought aside and the German Innenminister warned of making the connection to refugees just now on television. But that was discussed here on DP quite some time ago.
But let's see what turns out to be.

It's not the people in those countries it is their leadership and all those that supported this invasion who are to blame and yes this blood is on their hands.

I don't believe any blood is on their hands. I'm sorry you feel that way though.

They knowingly allowed this person into the West and tens of thousands just like him despite repeated warnings that this would happen not just from those opposed to this Islamic invasion but from ISIS itself, the question is how exactly is this NOT their fault?

ISIS militants mixed in with the thousands of Military aged male " refugees " ?

Well there's a surprise !!

If true, this will completely erode acceptance of these "poor refugees".

Meanwhile, however, Obama wants to bring 10K+ of them to the US. The asshole.

Yep, just like the Russians and the Chinese repeatedly warned the US and Western countries to stop interfering in Syria!!!!!!!!! We call this the chickens coming home to roost.

You're right on both counts. We've known about fake Syrian passports for a few months now. They're everywhere and highly coveted.

We're still faced with hundreds of thousands of innocent refugees, fleeing for their lives from a conflict we've helped created. The huge task of verifying all of them is too enormous.

Other countries need to step in and assist with the verification process. Perhaps we need to resort to something such as keeping the young men longer for more in depth verification and letting the mothers and children through more quickly.

It's a risky business - but those refugees are still human beings.

Once again all founders and top members of ISIS are former Ba'ath trained by the KGB, Assad and Hussein.

Once again, Hussein was our ally throughout the eighties, and served a far more useful role left be. Our 2006 NIE concluded that taking him out via our invasion and occupation of Iraq exacerbated global terrorism, and made America less safe. Had we not been interfering for decades in the affairs of middle eastern countries, we'd not have created the enemies that we have. I'd prefer a sane and logical approach to USFP and not policies that our security/intelligence agencies inform us are having the opposite effect that Americans have been told they would have. Do you think that if American citizens knew that Bush's war in Iraq was going to result in themselves being more vulnerable to an attack if Bush invaded Iraq that they would have supported his folly?

The US provided appx .5% of Saddams weapons the bulk came from the Soviets, Syria and Iraq were Soviet clients not the US's which is why they flew MIGs not f16s, shot AKs not MI16s and drove T-72s and not M1s. Most of the arms supplied by the US came in the form of dual use items weaponized after delivery and those only came when Baghdad was on the verge of falling to Iranian forces who actually had US arms and had once been a US ally.

That NIE also stated that a victory in Iraq would result in the demoralization of the foreign jihadist and make it less likely that they would fight elsewhere but unfortunately Obama snatched defeat from victory through his premature withdrawal something I'm sure you supported.

Many will call me a prick, and that is fine. But I have a hard time feeling sorry when someone/thing/country/etc gets exactly what they deserve. In the spirit of all this BS political correctness, inclusion and acceptance all Europe have let a boat-load of dangerous f*ing people into their countries. These people have NO intent to assimilate, they intend to conquer and destroy cultures.

I would agree with the stats that only 10-15% of muslims are radical. But how many muslims live in and/or 'migrated' to Europe? What is 10-15% of that number?

But there was no victory in Iraq. Victory isn't even attainable because of the conflict between Sunni and Shia. Containment of Islamic extremists is the only solution and Hussein, Mubarak, Gaddafi and Assad were far better at that then the US/Western powers.

Yep, probably so. But no, it's not that they have let a lot of dangerous people in, some dangerous ones have snuck in amongst the innocent refuges displaced by failed US and French policy in the region.

I'm with you here. Unfortunately, as the saying goes, "one bad apple spoils the whole bunch".

From the Guardian timeline, there were only 1 confirmed Syrian who was a terrorist bomber. One "Ah, shhhh" shouldn't ruin it for other refugees trying to flee tyranny. Unfortunately...:(

Somebody needs to read the book, The Gamble, by Thomas E. Ricks, and then maybe they'd think differently about what "victory" would look like in the War with Iraq. Here's a hint: Long, protracted and un-winnable by U.S./coalition forces.

No, we know that someone had that passport. We don't know that he was the bomber, or even that the bomber had it and not a victim. Yet.

Do we stop helping people because some people are bad?

Because that's exactly what the attackers want you to do.

I feel very sad that you are so filled with anger that you'd believe something like this.

Many of Obama's actions since 2009 have caused people to start believing in what would normally be considered "ridiculous conspiracy theories". His agenda is destructive.
