A University of Missouri-Columbia professor may have quit his job as racial tensions continued to flare on campus. Dale Brigham, a nutrition and exercise professor, caused an uproar with his email to students Tuesday night imploring them to come to class to take an exam despite the turmoil. Parts of that email were widely shared on social media. Brigham couldn't be reached Wednesday but confirmed to the Washington Post that he wrote it.

There are some students that would seek to ask that all campus activity cease in order to observe whatever social or campus "crisis" there is. To them, the world ceases to exist and the concept of taking an hour or two to do the exam (and certainly, 2-5 in the same week, I get that) is just "mindblowing" to them. Then there's the other group of students who use the crisis or emergency situation to get out of taking a test or turning in a project they aren't necessarily prepared for.

Both should be kept on a very tight leash.

True, but a professor shouldn't be lambasted for holding an exam during the tight schedules they have to observe. There is an opinion and then there's unrealistic and disproportionate outrage vented in inappropriate ways.

Because the homosexual African American student body president didn't feel as though the school which accepted him and elected him president was accepting enough of African American homosexuals.

At least that's my understanding of the situation.

I just assumed giving them the maximum benefit of the doubt that their claims are true, that:

1) some randos on campus and / or driving by yelled "nigger" (racist, sure but not anyone's fault other than the dude saying it and hey, free speech, whatcha gonna do?)
2) someone made a **** swastika (vandalism, was investigated)
3) the administration didn't do anything about the well-earned death of Mike Brown (like what would you expect them to do, lol?)
4) "white male privilege" (lol derp)

It's 100% a bunch of SJW hogwash and these whiny titty babies need to use college as an opportunity to prepare them for the real world which won't put up with this crap.

Of course there is racism in America - see black lives matter. What is questionable is claiming that racism is responsible for not changing the test schedule.
