Yes, it's completely irrelevant to my comment. I explained how gender is experienced. DNA has nothing to do with it. As I said, you do not have the credentials or education to make this determination. Those who DO, have, and have determined it is not a delusion.

You can't understand that because your bias refuses to allow you to accept the research that shows that it happens, and describes where gender is determined in the brain.

Ah...the you are to stupid to understand so let me tell you argument. Well played. But you are wrong. I linked to the disorder in my previous post. Take a look.

Here's the deal. We can not help them and play along with the delusional thoughts or we can try to help them by studying the problem and finding treatments. I think everyone deserves an opportunity at mental health so I support helping the transgendered rather than harming them.
 
Actually......No. Gender dysphoria is the distress felt when there is a mismatch between the gender (as experienced in the brain) and the biological sex of an individual.

No, your lack of education on this matter is even more apparent with the diagnosis you quoted. I USE that diagnosis with the transsexual clients I treat, so I am VERY familiar with it. It's NOT a delusional disorder, but a depressive disorder. You have now been corrected and I expect that you will no longer make the wrong assertion that it is a delusion.

You are still wrong. Someone is delusional if they have beliefs contrary to reality. The belief that their brain is of the opposite gender of their body is delusional. While the disorder is depressive, there is no doubt that there is an element of delusion. I'm afraid you are letting your political beliefs get in the way of your professional life.

No, you don't understand the term delusion and how it's applied. The reality is that they are anatomically one gender. And the reality is that their brain structure that denotes gender, indicates the opposite gender. That is not a delusion, that's a biological fact and differentiation. The only one here who is letting their politics interfere with facts is you. Gender Dysphoria is not a delusional disorder. Transsexuality is not a delusional disorder. Professionally, I follow the APA guidelines, among other things, and transsexuality is in no way categorized as a delusional disorder. Your usage is incorrect and based SOLELY on your personal bias.

They don't have any delusion that they do not have a penis / were not born with a penis (for MTF only).

Therefore, there is no delusion.

You perceive a delusion because you are not sufficiently familiar with the intricacies involved in the psychology and biology. It's not really surprising and it's not something that i personally hold against you, but i do believe that you are wrong.
