HELENA – Montana will become the 30th state to expand its Medicaid program after federal health officials on Monday approved provisions that include requiring beneficiaries to pay premiums that amount to 2 percent of their income.
And with that, Montana becomes the 30th state to join the Medicare expansion program under Obamacare. The momentum for an eventual single-payer system is strong, and the general trend is eventually for the US to join the ranks of other first world nations and have a single-payer health care system. And as for those other 29 states that have become single-payer, there is yet to be any sign whatsoever of death panels.
