Tony Blair has finally said sorry for the Iraq War – and admitted he could be partly to blame for the rise of Islamic State>

<The extraordinary confession by the former Prime Minister comes after 12 years in which he refused to apologise for the conflict.
Blair makes his dramatic ‘mea culpa’ during a TV interview about the ‘hell’ caused by his and George Bush’s decision to oust Saddam Hussein.>

<In the exchange, Blair repeatedly says sorry for his conduct and even refers to claims that the invasion was a war ‘crime’ – while denying he committed one.>

<Challenged that the Iraq War was ‘the principal cause’ of the rise of Islamic State, he said: ‘I think there are elements of truth in that.>

<A 2002 briefing note from US Secretary of State Colin Powell to the President showed Blair had secretly pledged to back the conflict – while telling MPs and British voters that he was seeking a diplomatic solution>

Re: 'I'm sorry': Historic moment Tony Blair FINALLY apologises for Iraq War and admit

I wonder if Hillary will apologize while on the campaign trail.

Re: 'I'm sorry': Historic moment Tony Blair FINALLY apologises for Iraq War and admit

Tony BLIar admitting to something probably means he didn't do it. Knowing that this is his image, he's probably counting on the double bluff effect.

Whaaa.........?

For Iraq?

Re: 'I'm sorry': Historic moment Tony Blair FINALLY apologises for Iraq War and admit

Sure, she voted for the Iraq Resolution.
Is that equivalent to having started the whole thing and then on the same false pretences that she and most everyone else fell for?

Clinton Derangement Syndrome is an ugly thing.

Who exactly convinced her to sign it?

Clinton Derangement Syndrome is an ugly thing.

Ok, she didn't sign the Iraq Resolution. Feel better now?

Did you know this thread is not about Clinton? It's true!

Or because he's incredibly disliked in the UK?

Oh, well the OP laments about it being "too bad it had to be someone across the pond", so I figured maybe Hillary can take the reins on this side of the pond since she is currently the most prominent public person to have authorized war in Iraq.

Yeah, I am sure that is it....LoLz....

You mean "vote for", no doubt.

The same people that convinced all the others that voted in favor.

Bush included? My point is, why should some people be held accountable but Hillary shouldn't?

How about you answer the question in#6?

That should get your thoughts rolling on the equivalence issue.

FWIW BLIar is a piece of you know what who can thus stuff his apologies up where it's dark, dirty and narrow.

In my book.

I tried to answer that question with a question. I'm assuming you believe Bush to be totally guilty and Hillary not guilty at all and it makes me wonder why. I don't think either are totally to blame, I think both had good reason at the time to vote for it.

That too.

But not (disliked) only there, either.

Yeah, "try" is a good term to use in that MO.

Totality is something I shy away from.

In this instance I simply find the attempt to equate the two (totally) disingenuous.

Blair was always a weakling. No surprise he's in the fetal position.

Thought so.

The February 15, 2003 global protest didn't help.

Why come out with a statement like this now? Not logical for any reason I can think of.....
