Why do the people of Alabama prefer electing delusional people to office? The woman hasn't even received the nomination as her party's candidate, much less been elected and this clown says she will be impeached on the day of inauguration. (VIDEO of the Congress critter at the MSNBC site)

GOP Rep. Mo Brooks already wants to impeach Clinton over emails

There are 385 days until the 2016 election. But that’s not stopping Republican Rep. Mo Brooks from making plans to impeach Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton should she win the presidency. The Alabama congressman told radio host Matt Murphy last week that he wants to charge the former secretary of state with official misconduct over her controversial private email account on her first day in the White House.

“In my judgment, with respect to Hillary Clinton, she will be a unique president if she is elected by the public next November, because the day she’s sworn in is the day that she’s subject to impeachment because she has committed high crimes and misdemeanors,” Brooks said in the interview, which was first flagged by The Huffington Post.

Now why would I call this nice gentleman "delusional"? Oh maybe because of some of the things he has said over the past few years.

for example, during an interview in 2014 with Chris Hayes, Brooks tried to claim that it was Bill Clinton who had allowed 200,000 illegal immigrants from El Salvador to stay in the country. (VIDEO at the link)
HAYES: When President Reagan granted deferred action to 200,000 people from El Salvador that had come here illegally, was he breaking the law in the same way?

BROOKS: I have not seen the facts and circumstances --

HAYES: But that would seem to be granting deferred action to people who come, wouldn't it?

BROOKS: Again, I have not examined what Bill Clinton did. This is a very serious --

HAYES: No, no, no, I'm sorry but President Reagan. President Ronald Reagan.

Then there is the "War on White People" that he told radio host Laura Ingraham was being launched by the Democrat Party during an interview in 2014
"This is a part of the war on whites that’s being launched by the Democratic Party. And the way in which they’re launching this war is by claiming that whites hate everybody else. It's part of the strategy that Barack Obama implemented in 2008, continued in 2012, where he divides us all on race, on sex, greed, envy, class warfare, all those kinds of things. Well that’s not true."

Mo Brooks is a good example of everything that is wrong with politics these days.

Yup, some of these congress critters do in fact "represent" their constituents - sad really that high enough concentrations of the mentally and intellectually challenged have clustered in high enough numbers to sway the vote to elect one of their own. However, before the OP and others try to make this into a partisan party bashing the GOP, let's just remember this one little golden nugget...

Dumbass is one word, and does not discriminate or have a political party affiliation.

Setting the whole Hillary thing aside for a moment, should a President only be impeached for crimes commited AS President?

Aw, it's so cute. Deflection away from the subject by linking to another stupid congress critter having nothing to do with the matter at hand - not unexpected.

Your point? I made my point - there are idiots, like the one in the OP, that can be found all throughout Congress.

He made a point: "Dumbass ...does not discriminate or have a political party affiliation."

OMG I have never seen that video before! Yes you have made your point quite well.

Reasonable question, but we are dealing with unreasonable people engaging in pure party politics here.

Technically speaking, yes the impeachment process in the US is a power of the legislature that allows for formal charges against someone in government (a President included) for crimes committed "in office."

But I doubt that Mo Brooks is really interested in law, or Constitutionality, or process. This is about making a political statement, and in doing so finding even new lows in modern politics.

On the other hand, with 4 SCOTUS appointments coming up, if Hillary IS elected POTUS, I would not mind a full congressional effort to impeach her right away before she can appoint any more Ruth Bader Ginsbergs.

I agree with the "pure party politics" part.

I don't agree with "unreasonable."
