Parents and children have been warned by officers to "remain vigilant" following the suspicious incidents in Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells.Police have said they will be liaising with local schools after a number of different incidents were reported to officers in recent weeks.
The suspicious incidents have involved people travelling in vans and approaching children.
Some of the children have reported being approached by people wearing clown or Halloween masks, who were deliberately trying to scare pupils walking to and from schools.

Tunbridge Wells Chief Inspector Dave Pate said: "We are still working to establish whether any offences have been committed.
"However, I want assure parents that we take the safety of all children very seriously and have extra officers on patrol around schools.

I have to admit, I am not familiar with UK law on the subject, but don't you Brit's have 'menacing laws'? And why the mealy mouthed "...checking into whether any offences...." Are your cops afraid of the clown union or something? Would they be accused of being 'anti clown'?
These are kids we are talking about here.....
