Not afraid of a few thousand Syrians, are you?
Seriously, If I was American I wouldn't be worried about jihadist lunatics with trenchcoats and thumb buttons, I'd be worried about the nuke in the shipping container in New York harbour. Politicians stir up hysteria about individual acts of terror but 9/11 should have taught them what the real threat is.
Edit- Just realized- I'm not meaning to minimize the Boston Marathon thing.
The Islamic crazies getting their hands on a nuke is a real and very frightening possibility. A sarin gas attack is another, not quite as scary. Anthrax spores would be yet another way for them to attack the "great Satan." Small, individual attacks couldn't begin to kill as many people, but they do disrupt business and keep people on edge. I suppose that is their objective.
