Gov. Jerry Brown Signs California Climate Change Bill

California is their own worst enemy but it is their state to run as they see fit, as long as the same people that voted for these kinds of laws and representatives stay in California.

Well, I don't think that is going to happen. California's intent is to force their beliefs on the rest of the country. They have already forced every person in the country who buys a new car to pay at least $1,000 more because of California's mandates. They already are forcing other states to accept their Global Warming regulations via quid pro quo requirements to do business. Every ship that arrives at a California port must meet stringent environmental standards that no other state demands. Everyone pays for that.

Of course, as companies leave, they will pull talent with them. The same talent that voted for the politicians who created the problem. California is exporting it's ideology. Resist it, or suffer the same fate.

I agree that they have a huge influence on the rest of the country. I have a chainsaw that is nerfed because of California laws. Same thing with any small engine tool. I keep hoping that companies will just choose not to offer their product in California but that isn' going to happen on a large scale.

We have a lot of folks that move to Boulder from California. That place is screwed up.

Yeah, when forests burn, they emit CO2...therefore "developed" forests emit CO2.

You just can't argue against this level of commentary, nor can you make this **** up.

The only way you have of being correct here is to rewrite what I wrote and attribute it to me? Try reading what I actually wrote and respond to it after you understand it.

This is the "I can't tell you how you got it wrong" canned response from someone who lost an argument.

Thanks for playing, better luck next time.

Oh- in what way is Boulder screwed up?

It costs like 3x or more to buy a house in Boulder than in the surrounding suburbs of Longmont and Arvada.

Explain to my why being in huge demand is a bad thing.

Boulder and their ethos, philosophy, is to control rights of people and then deny that they are taking away people's rights. They whine a lot. I hate going to Boulder. Most everyone that doesn't live in Boulder avoids Boulder. That is why everyone calls it the "People's Republic of Boulder". Boulder is full of elitists. Even liberals that I know avoid Boulder. The only reason the prices are so high is because there is no new housing allowed. They don't want "poor people" living around Boulder.

This thread isn't about Boulder however.

You made the digression relevant to Californians.

Since i was born and raised in California and moved to Boulder several years ago, you'll understand how i might take this personally.

There is this accusation that people like me are "ruining" Colorado. Making it like California.

Well, i moved here because my high tech job here pays almost as well, but a house is a fraction of the cost.

I love Boulder, it's beautiful. The kids who were born and raised in Boulder are often spoiled, in my experience, but certainly not always so. Driving through Boulder is annoying, but i think a big part of that is all the visitors it receives.

Basically, having a thriving industry, tourists, college kids- these things go hand-in-hand with social justice.
