Barack Obama slams Republican debate candidates - CNNPolitics.com

Washington (CNN)—As Republican presidential candidates lay into his record, President Barack Obama on Wednesday chalked up the attacks to expected election-year politics but said there was "nothing particularly patriotic" about their rhetoric.

"Despite the perennial doom and gloom that I guess is inevitably part of a presidential campaign, America is winning right now," Obama said at a meeting of the Business Roundtable in Washington. "America is great right now. We can do even better."

He cited job creation, the rising stock market and millions of Americans who now have health insurance as examples of a successful presidential run.
How ironic coming from the Apologist-in-Chief. :lamo

OMFG, I can not believe that he said, "America is great right now. We can do even better."

What a jackass, he should have said, "America is the greatest ever and, as such, it is impossible to become any better."

I guess he doesn't love his country

No. It's just ironic to watch him attack others as being unpatriotic for doing that which he did when he was in their shoes.

Such a foolish debate, especially when we have a plethora of more important matters to resolve over when something is and is not patriotic.

Why is it when Democrats or Liberals or any "left of GOP" person says that American can improve, many on the right are the first to yell, "America like it or leave it!" or "you hate America!", but when a Republican says something along those lines its perfectly acceptable?

If he said that, wouldn't he be a Republican?

There are lots of things the US could do to improve its position and the situation of the citizens. Sorrily, it does not look as though he used his power to do very much of that. But one can say that he could have done worse.

Improving America is a vague idea that has different meanings depending on who says it. To them a liberal saying that is a threat. The exact opposite happens when Republicans say we need to improve the country.

It would be helpful, if he explained why he thinks the US is "wining" right now.

We have more "wineyards".

I think he meant: "The US is whining right now."

Maybe he meant "wining and dining", so who would the US be wining and dining? OMG!!!! He must be referring to illegal aliens!

Or, maybe Muslim terrorists! We all know how much the Muslim terrorist illegal alien apologist in chief loves Muslims and hates America.
