First they defended businesses during the second wave of unrest, now they walk the streets with guns. Okay, it’s their right to secure the free state, civil order and property. But these guys can become real superstars if they would start some firefight being white civvies against black rioters. Risky they act, reminds me of the beginning of civil war. What do you think?

They should have been arrested immediately for bringing guns to a public street during a riot. They're attached to that idiot "infowars".

I think Ferguson is the wrong City to protest in.. It's been ascertained that Michael Brown caused the problem, even if Wilson over-reacted. There are many cities where blacks have been wrongly shot by Police and that is where this protest should be. The protest loses credibility by trying to whitewash Michael Brown,. As for the armed civilians in Ferguson, they should be committed for providing the gasoline before gasoline is thrown on a fire.
 
And yet, none of them shot at anyone, or caused any trouble. Why is that, I wonder? Surely, they must be awful people based on the posts in this thread? Why are they not acting like awful people? Maybe it's just those that hate the 2nd Amendment that think they are awful? One poster in this thread said they should be arrested for just exercising their 2nd Amendment right. I ask you, who are the real threat? The people rioting, shooting and burning (although they haven't burned... this time... yet - or is it because there are armed citizens protecting the property), or the people protecting private and public property from the rioters?

Goes directly to your 2nd Amendment. Perhaps it is time to review it???
Situations such as the OP note will only become more frequent and a matter of time before a real gun fight breaks out.
 
I dont really see anything wrong with walking around with a a gun. Its when you start pointing it at people or firing it that it becomes dangerous. (sorta like the cops do because they think their safety is greater than ours)
 
Now what if an armed black person feels threatened by these guys and "stands his ground" and shoots one of these oath keepers? Will he be shot by the police or the other "oath keepers"?

This is adding a dangerous escalation to an already tense situation.

But i am not sure how this is ever going to kill the 2nd amendment.

Their presence just adds more fuel to the fire. This should be left to the Police.
 
It is not the job of some self appointed Oaf Queefers to restore order.

They can walk the streets with guns, but protesters can't?

Let me see if I have this correct
No armed citizens = burned buildings, looting, and riots.
Armed citizens = no problems

So looks like it's no fun looting, and rioting if there might be some resistance.

I'd like to see the reaction among white righties if the new Black Panthers showed up with ar-15's clubs, brass knuckles and the likes. These clowns should the forcibly removed and if one gets shot in the head I won't morn him
 
Violation of a city ordinance would probably carry a misdemeanor charge - they'd be in violation of providing security without a security license. The bottom line is, these men apparently are allowed to be armed but not provide security services - the one guy says they are not providing security services to anyone but in general are "protecting people". The reason they haven't already been arrested is probably because they haven't done anything, yet, that would warrant an arrest.

Do I find it provocative? Yes. Do I think anyone will mess with them? No. I didn't see anyone from the Ferguson police department weigh in on this issue. Wonder why that is. :cool:

Both? Yes, the Oath Keepers managed not to shoot anyone. Yet. But all it takes is one to start a major problem.

Whats funny is cops were not engaging roiters that were burning property. Yet told to herd peaceful protestors and boss them around. Kinda backwards dont you think? Like whoever was commanding the police WANTED the bad people to burn more while pissing peaceful protesters off instead.

From what I've read of the Oath Keepers, I'm sure there's some overlap between the "paranoid anti-government nut" crowd and the "let's kill all the black people" crowd in there.

From what I gathered the 2nd amendment, was tied into the 14th by SCOTUS so as to permit private ownership of weapons.Is that correct?

I didn't say the were. Of course black Panthers aren't eracist either but white righties sure get upset at the thought of them walking their streets. Just a couple of them standing outside an voting precinct got the right all up in arms. Got to give credit to the BP's for not escalating the situation. I won't be sad if one of those clowns gets capped in the head.

If one is responsible with their ownership, why not? The 2nd amendment in and of itself permits private ownership and carrying of arms.
