Target's 'Trophy' Shirt Draws Sexism Claims

You'd force your fashion sense and taste on others? Just because you don't like it doesn't mean millions of women may like it just fine.

I said it was my "own opinion" didn't I?

How about we let women individually wear what they want to wear whether or not we approve or not, regardless of what we prefer. I think they are the best equipped to reason and decide what they like or dislike, don't you agree?

Fine with me. I'm not stopping anyone from wearing whatever they want. Difference being having some self-respect when it comes to clothes such as that. And it's not that they're just tacky, they're shoddy made, over-priced and highly unoriginal.

Swell.

Great. Then don't buy them, don't wear them. Lots of clothes are tacky, shoddy and overpriced. Freedom of choice is a wonderful thing.

He's been dead for a few years now. The designs may be McQueen but they're not the same.

John Galliano is the head designer for Dior these days what with Dior dying in 1957 and all. So not seeing how that's all that different.

True. Dior has always maintained a strange currency in the fashion world nonetheless. They have stayed true to Galliano's craft although I have not liked every season they have produced.

McQueen footwear is excellent. Their clothes I'm still ambivalent about.

Galliano's egyptian set was really something..... er.. special.... I had to double check I wasn't seeing the lion king or cirque de soliel.

Clothes such as that which - in my opinion - dress women to look that trashy cannot not be healthy for society.

Clothes don't dress women, women dress themselves. Those who choose to look trashy have no one to blame but themselves.

Let me know when you have an inkling of fashion sense.

The clothes dont magically jump on women without their consent.... gain some comprehension of what is attempted at being conveyed.

Only if you gain some realty on what is a rhetorical statement.

Let me know when you have an inkling of fashion sense.

Regardless of the fact that you apparently think clothing magically teleports itself to women against their will, the whole idea of "fashion sense" is idiotic, it's mindlessly following the crowd. Only the terribly shallow and emotionally incompetent care what anyone else is wearing.

I'm sure you look dapper in your Walmart threads.

I'm sure you look dapper in your Walmart threads.

Why would you care what someone wears? Or are you so shallow that it's only what's on the outside that matters?

I care what I wear.

And you're welcome to do so, but you also apparently care what everyone else around you wears because you've already tried to insult me, not having a clue what I wear, and you care what Target sells. That paints you as ridiculously judgemental of things that are none of your business. You should stop.

Ridiculous.

Hey people? If you don't like the t-shirt...don't buy it.

But running around stopping anyone else from buying a t-shirt that breaks no laws whatsoever and incites no violence is ridiculous.

What are they going to do if they spot a woman wearing one of these t-shirts? Rip it off of her? Throw ink at her?

Frankly, even if I had a wife that fit the 'trophy wife' criteria, I would rather my wife not wear such a t-shirt. But it's her life and if she wanted to wear it - go ahead.

I HATE PC..it is destroying America.

And it's for the weak.

FFS! Of all the **** to get upset about, this made the list? This damn shirt became "breaking news" in a culture ripe with actual violence, racism, sexism, ideological hatred, etc.?

We gotta get it together, this is absurd.
Small bull**** problems are easier to deal with than the looming glaciers of reality.

Edit: Although, to be fair, that is a somewhat iffy logo for a shirt. Might have been better to leave that kind of thing for the online shirt sellers, I mean they have some shirts that go WAY past a simple "trophy".

That's the problem with jokes though...sometimes you don't know if the person making them is serious or joking.
