Flag burners get attacked by bikers[W:634]

Re: Flag burners get attacked by bikers

The delusion of Southerners, no doubt.

As someone that has lived in the north and south I would have to agree with her.

Re: Flag burners get attacked by bikers

Your heritage?

I've been to the south. There is no heritage much less any culture.

Do the words SOUTHERN HOSPITALITY mean anything to you? Guess not. You see in the South people raised here are polite, we stop for funeral processions, police escort or not. We have our regional goodies (bbq here in NC, crawfish in Louisiana, peaches in Georgia, oranges in Florida, and well you get the idea) Sunday is church day, then its out to lunch or a big churchwide dinner afterwards. We are proud of our heritage, whether it is hated by others or not. That is only a hint of the South.

Re: Flag burners get attacked by bikers

Because that totally made them behave the last time. You want to learn at some point that being an asshole is not working.

Leaving them to their devices was far worse than forcing them to behave.

Re: Flag burners get attacked by bikers

Having the 'right' to do something does not mean there will not be consequences. Sometimes common sense should take be taken into account before insulting a group of determined people. Of course these cowards ran for the people they were protesting against, another great irony.

There aren't circumstances in which assault is an acceptable consequence of free speech, sorry.

Re: Flag burners get attacked by bikers

Why didn't you say that in the first place? I see you've backed off your "it's pretty" argument. Good, because that one was weak.

So, there's that word. The same word you folks always use.

Heritage.

Heritage of what, exactly? What have you inherited from the traitors?

Our ancestors fought for what they believed in, right or wrong. Its that simple.

Ive been there a few times myself and it is rich with heritage and culture and, in my experiences, filled with fine people..

Re: Flag burners get attacked by bikers

Lemme guess, you've never been here for long, or ever?

Been there, have no desire to remain there. Also irrelevant when discussing the historical heritage of the Confederacy.

Re: Flag burners get attacked by bikers

Sorry, but the battle flag was not "heritage" until the Dixiecrats needed a symbol of resistance to integration in the 20th century.

I actually think the Bonnie Blue was the "true" Southern flag but ask my dad today and he'll swear all people will think of is the Dallas Cowboys.

It is a consequence to this behavior and must always be taken into account. If you burn a flag and get the crap beat out of you as a consequence you can always fall back on that argument, as soon as your dental work is completed.

Re: Flag burners get attacked by bikers

You support violence against people exercising their First Amendment rights? Yeah, there's a surprise.

These right-wing nuts are like cry-babies who didn't get their way. Poor babies. Now they run around threatening violence; at least they talk big on the Internet, another big surprise.

Re: Flag burners get attacked by bikers

True, cops should have turned around and opened fire to protect old glory.

All talk and no action on your part, as usual.

In fact it wasn't the bikers who turned tail, it was the flag-burners. They'll be willing to defend their rights only up to the point of confrontation while people of courage actually fought and died for those rights, all gained under the symbol they're destroying.

Re: Flag burners get attacked by bikers

I'd like to see anyone try to prosecute people for defending the flag against commie rats like those. Only their cowardice saved them from getting the living hell beaten out of them. I salute my fellow motorcyclists!

Then you celebrate violence for opposing opinions.

Just because it's wrong doesn't make it not funny

Over used cliche. I've had better hospitality in Wisconsin and lawd knows how much I detest Wisconsin.

You see in the South people raised here are polite

I agree with that.

Unlike California where funeral processions are complete chaos.

We have our regional goodies (bbq here in NC, crawfish in Louisiana, peaches in Georgia, oranges in Florida, and well you get the idea)
Colorado has legal weed. Beat that.

Sunday is church day, then its out to lunch or a big churchwide dinner afterwards. We are proud of our heritage, whether it is hated by others or not. That is only a hint of the South.

"Church day"? Sounds like Christofascism to me. Hope my biker gang doesn't travel to the south and start beating people up over it.
