Flag burners get attacked by bikers[W:634]

Re: Flag burners get attacked by bikers

Greetings, humbolt. :2wave:

O.M.G. !! So many..... :boohoo:

Morning Pol. They desecrate the flag because they hate this country. They are the ones for decades who have been undermining and tearing down every institution in this country that made it the greatest place on the planet where people from all over the world make great sacrifices just for the opportunity to come here. They have been living in the shadows since they found a friend in the Democratic party with the election of Woodrow Wilson. What we are seeing "explode" in this country is a century of effort on their part to transform it into something it was never intended. They control our education system feeding minds of mush full of their agenda. Have you noticed those who gather for these flag burnings are young. Once in awhile you will catch a left over hippie from the 60's on the scene. These activists are funded by some really wealthy elites and encouraged by the very professors that fill their heads with anti-American crap.

Personally, in my family on one side were immigrants that fled Communism in Eastern Europe at the beginning of the 20th century. My immigrant grandpa would often say, "Americans, they are asleep" because decades ago he could discern those who were undermining liberty/freedom. On the other side, I am a descendent of a passenger on the Mayflower. My descendants were part of the Virginia Militia during the Revolutionary War, the Civil War and every war that followed.
Here's a pic of my ggg grandfather in his Union uniform.

He was a flag carrier and got a bayonet through the knee. He walked with a cane the rest of his days.

A lot of blood and treasure sacrificed defending our flag. And it is very hard to watch lowlifes who have no appreciation for the cost of freedom desecrate it.

Re: Flag burners get attacked by bikers

A careful examination of my posts clearly shows that I have no objection to a non-violent response to a non-violent protest. Walking up and pouring water on a fire in a public place is a non-violent response.

However, that was not the tone and tenor or YOUR original posts citing "consequence's of their actions," and you know that very well. Otherwise you would have felt no need to respond to me.

There is absolutely no excuse for violence against peaceful protesters in a free society. Even police should use the absolute minimum force when arresting participants in sit-ins, barricades, marches, etc. So in case you continue to pretend to misunderstand me, if I see anyone physically attack another American citizen who is peacefully protesting on American soil I will intercede to defend their right to do so the same way I would defend that right by serving in combat overseas.

Uh huh. Are you done with your holier than thou diatribe yet?

Re: Flag burners get attacked by bikers

Greetings, humbolt. :2wave:

 You made an excellent point when you stated that the people burning our flag didn't consider it "just a piece of cloth." I hadn't thought of it that way, but you're right. It had a meaning for them, or they could have burned an old T-shirt or something. In Houston, the Westboro Baptist Church used to demonstrate during the funerals of veterans from all our wars. My daughter served as a Memorial Lady along with many others, since they all have regular jobs and serve as volunteers. They all wear the same uniform and sit with the family when the color guard presents the flag to the family. She said the saddest funerals were the widows of WW2 servicemen, because they were so elderly and didn't understand why they were being heckled at such a sad time. A decision was made to enlist the help of the Freedom riders, a large motorcycle-riding group of men. They made a ring around the cemetery a quarter mile away, and prevented any protestors from getting any closer. They could shout insults all they wanted - nobody could hear them. It worked. Nobody's freedom of speech was denied them, the cyclists were mean-looking enough to serve as a reminder that people weren't going to put up with their antics, and the funerals were conducted in dignity. And those cyclists were there for every funeral that took place, humbolt, on their own time and for love of this country, as many of them had also served in the military. Eventually the Westboro people gave up and stopped coming. That's one way to handle troublemakers! I can't fault those cyclists who put the fire out and stopped the recent flag burning. They could probably done a lot more in anger at what they saw, but they didn't have to, since the cowards ran away!

Yeah. My piece of cloth is flying today. I'll get around to imbuing it with honor later depending on where it flys and when I decide to see it.

Re: Flag burners get attacked by bikers

When you become more attached to the object than the principles it contains or represents then you are already lost. You seem to have the same mindset for the U.S. flag that Muslim extremists have for the Koran

See, your type is part of the problem. Using the US flag and the Quran in the same context. I pity you.

But its their right. And weak uneducated malcontents hide behind police lines to do the desecrating. Proving they know what they are doing is wrong.

Re: Flag burners get attacked by bikers

i absolutely detest those that burn the american flag

if you hate this country so much, please leave

but at the same time, i fought for their right to do so

it has been through the courts, and is considered speech if i remember correctly

do i like it.....hell no

must i tolerate it....yes....just as the leftists must tolerate the flying of confederate flags in shops around the country

the are both one and the same in my mind....

Re: Flag burners get attacked by bikers

So they burned a flag thinking that it might prevent the police from carrying guns? Can Leftists get any more stupid than this??

If you'd followed along, you'd have seen that I disagree with them. But they have the right to do as they did but the biker gang did not. ;)

Re: Flag burners get attacked by bikers

I love the US Constitution more. No one has ever gone to court with a flag as judicial reasoning to defend my rights.

Bikers can kick my ass, that doesn't change my rights.

Good morning, Vesper. :2wave:

IMO, Iran got everything it demanded, with the goodies starting now - sanctions lifted on $100 billion dollars of their money; France looking to make a lot of money on their business dealings with Iran - which incidentally continued the entire time these negotiations were ongoing; Iran continuing to work with North Korean scientists on developing a nuclear bomb; a week or so ago, Iran absolutely refused to allow access to their facilities by international inspectors -now suddenly they will - and so forth. Ramadan ends July 17, and the conclusion of these negotiations appear to have been urgent, since the Iranian leaders wanted to make an announcement to their people during Ramadan, which is the holiest month in their calendar. Lots of promises and lies on both sides to get this done, IMO. Time will tell us, and the entire world, what has just happened. I worry for all the world's children and grandchildren in the years to come, as they are the ones that are going to live with whatever is going to occur as a result. Even Iran's neighbors don't trust them to keep their word, and are already making plans to get their own nuclear programs on fast track, in self defense!

Re: Flag burners get attacked by bikers

I can see why you don't know who "The right" are. They're so far to the left of you they're almost invisible. The rest is merely a hate-filled word salad.

You've made your hatred of the U.S. clear many times before here. I can easily understand why foreigners might feel irrelevant and envious.

Re: Flag burners get attacked by bikers

Its not a right to deliberately attempt to enrage someone.

It's not a right to give into trolling and assault others.

Why would it be shocking that a Sunni Saudi Arabia wouldn't trust a Shia Iran, and vise versa? Why is Saudi good and Iran bad. Saudi Arabia has a horrible human rights record, beheads people for being gay, doesn't let women vote, put down a popular "Arab Spring" uprising in Bahrain, with Hillary's blessing, the kind we supported everywhere else in the ME, exports a lot of terrorism, etc., etc.,

This right wing fear-mongering and demonization isn't good for anybody other than defense contractors that we know are big donors to the GOP! ;)

as if i should be held responsible for your being unable to control your emotions ... such as your response to this post

Re: Flag burners get attacked by bikers

That's not evidence that these guys were anti American communists, sorry. And if you really are an advocate for first amendment freedoms, then stop bitching about these guys expressing theirs.

I would have defended the right of a group of Nazis to parade through a town inhabited largely Jewish survivors of concentration camps, too, as other lawyers defended it, forty years ago, as a matter of free speech. But that would not have stopped me from calling out the Nazis whose right I was defending for the un-American filth they were.

No one burns an American flag as it was done here except to show his hatred of America. Having read countless posts here in which you have savaged the United States, I know exactly why you are so determined to defend these America-hating rats--and it has nothing to do with the freedom of speech.

Your being weak and stamping your feet and holding your breath, what I equate flag burning to.

To the bolded. False!!!!

Re: Flag burners get attacked by bikers

Just remember, those of you citing the first amendment decision of the SC, that this is the same SC that gave the EPA the potential authority to regulate your exhalations. So if the EPA decides that you yourself should no longer exhale, by all means don't break the law. Somehow the idea that the ever changing legal proscriptions of the SC should also constitute a moral compass is getting lost in the weeds here. The flag is indeed just a symbol - the very same symbol the British tried mightily to shoot off the top of Ft. McHenry. I wonder why they even bothered with such an empty symbol.

proving how wrong you are to believe it would be appropriate to assault someone for stamping their feet and holding their breath

Yes, because god forbid we cant agree to disagree.

Not if one supports assaulting another group for disagreeing.

This is true. War has always been the way to win an argument against progressives.

This is one of the most meaningless posts I've ever encountered.

Yours above is the most meaningless one I've encountered. HOJ is gone, so you can use the BWAHAHAHAHA all by your lonesome now, if you'd like. I kinda miss it now and then.
