Flag burners get attacked by bikers[W:634]

Re: Flag burners get attacked by bikers

They used a grill, so it was legal. The bikers do have a right to disagree, but not to assault. Justifying and excusing assault is disgusting.

It was a joke...sigh....

Re: Flag burners get attacked by bikers

You never had to hit anyone in your entire life?

Not without cause. Rights and freedom win out over anger and and prejudice.

Re: Flag burners get attacked by bikers

Nobody had to assault these people. It is sickening that you imply such.

Re: Flag burners get attacked by bikers

Flag-burners = OWS = anti-American Values and tradition= unPatriotic. They hate everything America stands for.

Bull ****. They hate the fact that the police are armed and picked a ****ty but legal way to protest it. you don't know that they hate everything Americana!

Re: Flag burners get attacked by bikers

What are these people expecting by disrespecting our flag?

Who cares? I don't. I do care that they have the right to do it without being assaulted. As a matter of fact, the assault actually gave them more attention, otherwise I'd not even know about it. So you can thank your thugs for that I guess.

They hate abuses originating from a militarized police force. That's about as American as it gets.

Re: Flag burners get attacked by bikers

We burned the Brit flag in an attempt to start a war, which we did, and won. Are these flag burners looking for a war.

No! They're just looking for the police to be disarmed. Unrealistic as that might be.

Re: Flag burners get attacked by bikers

Which one? There were 5!

If you're talking about THE Confederate flag, there were only 3 basic ones (and several variations of them). If you're talking about A Confederate flag, there were quite a few more than 5.

Or were you enumerating your grandfathers? :lamo

I read it as it will no longer be tolerated. Even if "we the people" have to step in and put a stop to it.

I think his main point is the IRONY of picketing the cops one minute then demanding the cops save you the next minute.......you don't see the.....you know..............irony?

Well, I'm trying to join you in that position, but really, the answer to eradicating abuses carried out by some few police officers isn't disarming them all. As to the militarization of the police forces, I'm right there with you bro, ALL of that needs to come to an end.

The pictures of LE looking for the two escaped murderers in upstate New York a couple weeks ago looked more like we had dispatched the US Marines after them!

I say disband them. Let them patrol their own neighborhoods. Solve their own crime problems. Make their homes into fortresses.

Disband the police???

So, if I want police protection, that means I can't ever protest any police overreach? Otherwise it is ironic, or hypocritical, or something?

Re: Flag burners get attacked by bikers

I think she's doing a great job keeping calm, since it's surely an emotional issue for her and the other Southerners. It's not emotional for me because I'm Australian. I don't know how she stays so even tempered.

Meh. From posts in this and other threads, it's obviously also an emotional issue for anti-Confederates. So what? Still irrelevant to my post.

Re: Flag burners get attacked by bikers

I thought only rightwingers made up bullcrap to try to cover an obvious screw up. The law cannot be "taken into the hands" of anyone unless there's a law being broken, that's just language, not really up for debate. I can't take the law into my own hands against my rapist, unless he/she broke the law, ie raped me. A father can't take the law in to his own hands against his child's murderer, unless a law was broken, ie murder. The flag burners were not breaking any law, so the thugs couldn't be "taking the law into their own hands," because no law was broken.

If you have been following my posts you would have noted that at no point did I state they broke any laws by burning the flag. It was their right to burn the flag if they wished to.
Next point- Old sayings – Mean different things in differing parts of NA.
Perhaps you should check and learn that my last point is fact.
And lastly – If I screw up – I will admit to it.
As I did not screw up – I explained it.
You do not like the explanation – Fine with me.
And yes I am being polite.

That's a really great point. They bought some flags to do it too. Advancing capitalism. Creating jobs.

There were more than 5, but the most common are the 5 you see today in various places. The 3 national flags, the battle flag and the Bonnie Blue.

I'm not saying your logic is wrong. I'm saying if you picket(for instance) the fire department, and then five minutes later you have to call the fire department to save your house, the general public is going to end up laughing at YOU, not the fire department.

Re: Flag burners get attacked by bikers

Consider whatever you like, still doesn't make it THE Confederate flag.

Well it is the one they wrote the song about, just sayin. Still most people aside from those who know the various flags of the Confederacy would probably see it and think of the Dallas Cowboys

OK, now that statement probably is accurate.:applaud

It is if you look around. I own the Battle flag and the Bonnie Blue. My granddaddy used to fly the Battle flag on important Confederate Days. General Lee's birthday, President Davis' birthday, and Confederate Memorial Day. He may have flown it other times but those are the ones I remember

She sustains a lot of flak.
