Iran Opens Campaign to Lay Blame on U.S. if Nuclear Talks Fail

July 10, 2015

TEHRAN - As nuclear negotiations in Vienna grind on through deadline after deadline, Iranian officials have begun a public campaign to blame the United States in the event that the talks fail...

It's looking more and more like Iran is indeed trying to cover-up possible military dimensions (PMDs) to its nuclear program(s) and has no intentions of accepting a verification regimen that will ensure either agreement compliance or non-compliance discovery.

And why should they?

Lets make a deal... if Iran has to give away with such scrutiny.. why does the US and Israel not open up their civilian and military nuclear projects to the exact same verification?

Would you like to deny that the US will be blaming Iran if the talks fail, hmm?

Because they don't have to and Iran can't make them.

Why, should they? Have you read the treaty and looked at the members list? Have you read the SC resolutions? That would make discussions much easier.

Re: Iran Opens Campaign to Lay Blame on U.S. if Nuclear Talks Fail

Because they don't have to and Iran can't make them.

And, of course, Iran signed a treaty saying it would not advance military use. IT seems to have broken the treaty. That is why the French and even the Germans are upset and the Russians and Chinese do not really want to take Iran's side on this issue.

The difference is, that Iran is in default of compliance. It is the one that must show the UN that it has not broken the treaty, which it appears it has.

Lol, SEEMS to have. If they have, funny you think they've done so with out either Russia or China's help, or both. Further, even though Russia and China may well not be interested in a nuclear weapons powered Iran, it wouldn't mean that they're on the US's side against Iran. Just because so many patronizing Americans refuse to acknowledge the history of sabotaging USFP in Iran, Russia and China are under no such delusion about it.

That's besides my point that regardless, the US will be blaming any failure on Iran.

Neither the U.S. nor Israel operates from the perspective of establishing a world-wide theocracy for starters.

Re: Iran Opens Campaign to Lay Blame on U.S. if Nuclear Talks Fail

This complaint from Iran seems to me very legitimate. The US, UK, China, Russia, France and Germany no doubt have conflicting interests in this. Seems perfectly reasonable that Iran would expect the group of six would present them with a co-operative expectation for compliance:

He said the disagreements came to a head this week, as the Iranian negotiators have struggled to come to terms with conflicting demands from the six.

“There have been changes of position, and multiple positions,” he said. Iran was being forced to try to make a series of bilateral deals, rather than trying to negotiate with a group that had a common position, he said.

Why is this a surprise, or even news for that matter?

Iran "hardliners" *already* state that any deal is not to be trusted, they already claim we are acting as crusaders. Why the hell is anyone surprised the blame campaign is in full tilt?

LOL yea right... they just want to dominate everyone ... as long as it is not by establishing a world wide theocracy then it is okay?

More like because the US isn't an active supporter of terrorist organizations supplying arms and funding?
Or do you welcome the idea of Hezbollah gaining a nuclear weapon or a dirty bomb? And consider such as a stabilizing development in the ME?

Yeah, right. As if it's not been Iran that's been throwing more and more constraints (previously agreed to if I'm not mistaken) on the heap dung that it this deal. It deserves to be killed off by now.

Could care less about treaties and resolutions to be frank. Israel gets away with having nuclear weapons and selling it to hostile nations... and the excuse.. well they have not signed a piece of paper, but Iran who has signed it, has not started a war for over 1000 years (unlike others with nukes), is being badgered into allowing access to sensitive military sites, something that both the US and Israel would never ever allow if they were in the same situation.. just because Israel and the US dont believe that the Iranians when they say they are only doing it for civilian energy... this from the nation that lied to the world to justify an attack on sovereign nations..

Such naivety.

American Officials Admit that the U.S. Is a Huge Sponsor of Terrorism

The director of the National Security Agency under Ronald Reagan – Lt. General William Odom – noted:

Because the United States itself has a long record of supporting terrorists and using terrorist tactics, the slogans of today’s war on terrorism merely makes the United States look hypocritical to the rest of the world.

Odom also said:

By any measure the US has long used terrorism. In ‘78-79 the Senate was trying to pass a law against international terrorism – in every version they produced, the lawyers said the US would be in violation.

The Washington Post reported in 2010:

The United States has long been an exporter of terrorism, according to a secret CIA analysis released Wednesday by the Web site WikiLeaks.

The head and special agent in charge of the FBI’s Los Angeles office said that most terror attacks are committed by our CIA and FBI.

OK. So what about the idea of Hezbollah gaining a nuclear weapon or a dirty bomb from Iran?

I suppose that's just fine by you then?

Ok. So let's ignore the fact that the US too exports terrorism, already has and has used the nuclear bomb, and twist off over hypotheticals. The rights always so fearful, despite the fact that the US has a military budget that dwarfs all others.

Why should that be funny? Or are you referring to the nuclear plant that the Russians supplied? That might have assisted the weapons program, but it was legal at the time.

Re: Iran Opens Campaign to Lay Blame on U.S. if Nuclear Talks Fail

Could care less about treaties and resolutions to be frank......

That is the central problem the EU, Euroland and all those other European thingamajigs have.

Funny=oddity in the context.

OK, so ignore all the context of history to justify an international national pariah, a Muslim theocracy, gaining nuclear weapons technology.

One suicide bomber with such a device, dirty or explosive, would cause how much damage, loss of life?

In the calculus of risk management, there's likelihood, impact and consequences, and cost to prevent or mediate the risk.

The likelihood is not zero (may be as high as 50%), the impact and consequences are huge (this is what Israel is concerned with), and the costs to mediate are less.

Ignoring it surely isn't going to make it go away, but make it more likely that Iran will, in fact, develop nuclear arms, and it's making the community of nations quite rightly very anxious.

Don't always think that others are like you. That is a fault you often fall prey to that makes the world look even bleaker than it already is. ;)

Oh I've never been an advocate to ignore problems, right here in this thread I've endeavored to show you the failures in USFP that create crisis and enemies, and the hypocrisies of such policies along the way.
