Georgia didn't exactly cave, they just adopted a new design that is the same as the First national flag, but with the state seal in the blue field instead of the stars.

LOL Again with the martyr syndrome. My heart bleeds for you. Another relic of a despicable era in our history is put to rest and you cry like babies. And I don't mean the civil war either, It's an era us older folks remember well.

No, I speak only for myself, but living here in SC, I think I can relate the general mood of people I come into contact with on the issue....Sorry you don't like that.

You "older folks"? That's a real hoot.... How old do you think I am?

On to your stupid pic bomb...So, you only prove my point dude...See, if I don't agree with you, you feel the need to call me a racist, and continue to attack me....How very tolerant of you.

LOL Where did I call anyone a racist? My pics were only to illustrate the era we are trying to put an end to for good and the battle flag was the banner of the segregationists. Good riddance to it.

Then stop acting like I am attempting to speak for others when I speak my mind. I live in South Georgia, so I know the mood of people on the issue too. You don't corner the market on living in the deep south, bub. Alot of us do, and thankfully, we can all speak our own minds. That is what started this whole thing, by the way.

I'm really glad this happened, I just don't think it had anything to do with the shootings and as usual people are missing that point.

Would it make all attacks like these disappear? No, but it would decrease the frequency and severity of them, just like in all other civilized Western nations, where tougher gun controls sharply correlate with rarer gun violence.

My point is, does taking down the flag from SC state grounds make any of these attacks less likely? Obviously not, so, that's why while praising the symbolic gesture, I'm not impressed and find it utterly inefficient and likely to be just a diversion to distract people from the lack of real action.
