I don't know the answer about what President and Mrs. Bush did with the collective $150,000 they received from their support of the event outlined in the OP, but it wouldn't surprise me at all if the money went directly to the support of veterans in the direct work he does for them. Perhaps in coming days we'll hear something about that but knowing how President Bush has conducted himself since leaving office, I doubt very much he will be out in front of the cameras trying to counter this story - he just doesn't care what the media thinks or does.
but his brother can and should be concerned what the media reports

dubya's money grubbing behavior, at the expense of troops injured in dubya's wars, is unconscionable

jeb needs to distance himself from that. fail to do so, and his candidacy is toast

No he doesn't. What George did has nothing to do with him and the net result was 1.4 million dollars.

Would it have been better for the charity not to have the 1.4?

But yeah right you know. That's just my opinion and just know when I become an ex president or an international superstar rapper you can count on me to do your charity for free. But I'm not everyone and if people pay what these people are charging then I guess it works out for them.
Do you think the ex-president can move around like that in a coach seat?

How do you consider a 1.4M positive an expense?

You keep trotting out this line, so I'd like you to clarify - which "wars of choice" are you referring to and which wars lacked significant Congressional sanction of both parties?

With a hat and a mustache anyone can.

No seriously ok maybe not Bush that is a good point, I was talking most keynote speakers in general. An ex president might be an exception but still he's a retiree got a lot of time for a road trip.

Your posts are getting more irrational and more desperate as the day goes on. I consider that unusual for you.

Re: To Help US Veterans Charity, George W. Bush Charged $100,000

I have no issue with GWB charging a speakers fee and the travel arrangements. My only interest in this thread is the irony that those who are jumping to GWB's defense are by and large those who have taken to the board to criticize Hillary and others for charging similar fees for speaking. It is the hypocrisy that is glaring.
