True, but let them tell it, and forcing the removal of a symbol that led the battles to preserve the institution of human trafficking and slavery, and we lost free speech yesterday.

It will come I think, slowly but surely, a bit at a time.

Like I said, they caved to political correctness. If they had a spine they would have told whoever was yelling this time to go fly a kite

They hadn't caved to political correctness for the past 15 years or so during all the economic boycotts, and the loss of the privilege of hosting many collegiate and pro sporting events because of the flag being on state property. They just told the NAACP, and some national sports organizations to "go fly a kite"

Political and economic pressure on the state to take down the flag is nothing new, it's been going on for years. Don't you think maybe this time it had a little something to do with the legislature, and the public, changing their mind?

That does happen, not everyone is so indoctrinated into a particular line of thought that they can't (or never try to) see past their own blinders.

Yet one mentally ill nut murders 9 people for no reason and all of a sudden the flag is to blame. Can't convince me that someone wasn't behind that sudden move.

Yep, a majority of republican legislators. Now, take down your avatar, hear?

NO! Like I said, can't convince me there wasn't a lobbyist behind that move, since no one seemed to care about the flag before. Interesting though the NCAA kept boycotting SC over the flag, yet they won't go after Georgia whose flag is identical to the First National flag.

I thought that Georgia took down the confederate battle flag some years ago? Public pressure was behind the move. And it's certainly NOT true that nobody's cared about the flag until this. Folks have complained about it for years, it's just that the image of that murderous young man with his venerated flag that represents oppression to so many had the effect that so many wanted for some time now.
