Cool. Those 9 people are coming back to life, right?

Does fag refer to a homosexual or a bundle of sticks?

The flag is not a symbol of hate, stupid libs and that screeching crying freak (I feel bad for her husband), its a symbol of Southern Pride. Things change meaning over time. The rebel flag no longer stands for racism, get the **** over it, old people.

Its not my flag, Im a Yankee. Im just not a sensitive slobbering liberal pussy, so I dont get bothered by the polyester blend.

Also I am a VERY tolerant person. I can tolerate people who are proud of their Southern heritage and their flag without going on a heavy-flow period, unlike you.

So you can get by on the mini-pads, I see. Human trafficking and slavery is sure a heritage to be proud of. Why would a Yankee cheer that on?

However many Southerners see the Confederate battle flag a symbol of Southern pride and this could be viewed by those voters(those who are politically knowledgeable and those who are not politically knowledgeable) as their elected officials ****ting on that symbol of southern pride out of political cowardice. I could see this costing many of those elected officials their job. If this was at a federal level you would be right, the vast majority of voters have a short attention span and do not pay attention to politics. However it is not quite the same thing at the local level.
I could be wrong, but I don't think it's true that MOST southerners see the Confederate flag as a symbol of heritage, etc. I was born and raised in deep south Louisiana. Spent several months in Tennessee, and drove the whole way from Louisiana. Drove to Florida, crossing Mississippi and Alabama on the way. Not once in my entire life in the south did I see the Confederate flag flown or hear it referenced, or hear anyone say anything about our proud heritage during or before the Civil War. (Altho it's possible I saw it in a window of a pickup truck on the highway but don't remember that.)

I think it is a symbol for SOME southerners who are extremist or maybe even white supremacy sympathizers or say they revere the flag because they don't want the liberals to win an argument (as the southerners see it). If it were really a symbol of some proud heritage in the south by a LOT of southerners, I would have heard about it or seen the flag somewhere. It seems as if this symbol thing with the flag is mainly in a two or three states, and only some of the people there.

Who are you to say what it means as a symbol to someone?

When I see it, one thing it symbolizes is that the people of the South decided to fight for the right to keep people as property. That is offensive. It is the battle flag of that fight. That is a fact.

If Southern people believe strongly in commemorating a war in which they got their asses kicked, that's their right. They can believe in that symbol. But it doesnt change the fact that that symbol also is a reminder, everyday, to those who did find that fighting for slavery was an abomination.

Are you or those people you refer to unaware of the actual history of that flag??

And I've seen it flown many times in the South. All over the place, half the time on the plastic cups I was drinking beer out of.

Ask yourself the same ****ing question.

Yea Im sure its kept you up many a night hasnt it? Stop lying.

It WAS the battle flag of that fight.

Southern soldiers were pound for pound the best fighting force in the entire world at that time. They got beat because they lacked resources, not because they lacked fighting skill. They were far outnumbers and more northerners died in that war than Southerners. And Southerns werent barbarian rapists, murderers, and thieves like the northerners were. Sickening.

Anyway the meaning changed...its a flag of southern pride. Why do you hate people who are proud of where they are from? Is it because liberals are hateful and intolerant by nature?

The only thing I am cheering on is people being allowed to be proud of where they come from. Im proud of my state, why cant they be proud of theirs? Why cant LIBS simply DISAGREE with someone, instead of FORCING people to submit to their radical PC beliefs?

I dont have a problem because Im tolerant and not a sensitive hipster pussy liberal douche (Ive went over this already). I would recommend that you join the club.

Oh well. Hey, you arent crying are you? Seem a little emotional but no worries, no one's itching to marry you either, lol.

Again, the symbolism can legitimately be different for different people. What it meant, historically, *hasnt changed.* If people want to fly it, good for them. As you wrote..it was the battle flag for that fight and they lost. Seems dumb to me to keep celebrating it but up to them. But it's inappropriate for a govt office or organization to do so when that state or local govt receives fed funds. A bit childish.

And where did I ever say I hated anyone? Honey, your emotions have gotten the better of you. Now, dry those tears and off you go!
