Oh, wait—now you’re comparing those who would throw folks out of their own church to Jesus throwing the money-changers out of the Temple?

I’d laugh at this hopeless attempt at comparison if the lack of understanding wasn’t so sad.

Yup, not a surprise. The Episcopalian Church has been waffling in this direction for some time now.

Re: Episcopalians Vote to Allow Gay Marriage in Churches

I personally feel that their decision is highly questionable in light of the long-held common interpretation of 1 Corinthians 6:9-11, Romans 1:26-28, 1 Timothy 1:10, 1 Corinthians 7:2 and so on, but I am not going to go so far as saying they are "Christians in name only".

"Bretheren who have fallen into an error," would be more my viewpoint.

But, as I am not Episcopalian, I suppose it isn't really my business all that much.

Bottom line is I respect your view of marriage even if I disagree. Let's end it there. But if you need to claim victory of your beliefs over mine or billions of others, fine. You "win" a contest only you were playing.

Yeah, all of those damn people who believe Jesus really was who he said he was really poison the message.

That's an interesting point. What exactly did Jesus say about gay marriage? Quote?

The core of his teachings seemed to me to be "Love thy neighbor and treat each other with kindness and respect." I guess the Episcopalians put more emphasis on Christ's teachings than on the homophobic ramblings of bronze age authors.

You don't won't to envision the one after that.
Translation: Since gays demanded equal rights and didn't subject themselves to my interpretation of marriage, I'm going to throw a hissy fit.

I M O it was a blatant, willful decision to go after traditional Christian marriage in particular. Watch where they attack now
