    Iraq was Obama's inheritance?
Can't we just turn Congress off and then turn it back on again?

The CIA were pretty much told to tow the line on Iraq back in the day and your opinion does not represent the 'big picture' in any way shape or form as has been illustrated by multiple links throughout this thread

I wouldn't know their ultimate goals - no one does probably. However goal and objectives tend to change over time and in reality, those fighting them are ****es from Iran and the Kurds as well as a handful of other opposition groups within Syria borders. The Iraqi's ran away for the most part except for Eastern and Southern areas.
I think if Thomas Jefferson were looking down, the author of the Bill of Rights, on whats being proposed here, hed agree with it. He would agree that the First Amendment cannot be absolute. - Chuck Schumer (D). Yet, Madison and Mason wrote the Bill of Rights, according to Sheila Jackson Lee, 400 years ago. Yup, it's a fact.

There are far larger guerilla armies fighting in other parts of the world that are largely ignored by the Western media

The only way these guys are of any significance is in the way they use western victims to further their ends via our media. They have been singularly successful in this regard and now have many believing they are ten feet tall, bent on world domination .... yadda yadda. They are basically a small group of religious fanatics that will go the way of many other such groups in the fullness of time, taken down by their own infighting.

Yes, Obama inherited a stable and sovereign Iraq per his comments, a surge that worked, an Iraq totally in control of the Iraqi Govt. and look at what it is today.

Wrong, George Tenet a Clinton appointee made the statement. You continue to buy only what you want and ignore anything that contradicts it

CNN.com - Woodward: Tenet told Bush WMD case a 'slam dunk' - Apr 19, 2004

One would think that a "stable and sovereign" nation could have stood on its own without having the US military keeping it stable.
Can't we just turn Congress off and then turn it back on again?

I'm pretty sure Nixon claimed the same for South Vietnam too
