    CNN.com - Bush makes historic speech aboard warship - May. 1, 2003
The transition from dictatorship to democracy will take time, but it is worth every effort. Our coalition will stay until our work is done and then we will leave and we will leave behind a free Iraq.

The battle of Iraq is one victory in a war on terror that began on September the 11th, 2001 and still goes on.

As to the banner, it spoke volumes.
I was also referring to the speech.
Still waiting on your opinion of the speech?
Or are ya gonna sit back and peck at a phrase or 2?

I think we should be doing much, much more to combat ISIS and to advance our interests in the region. That being said I'm not sure how the Obama administration was supposed to stop an attack on an Egyptian military outpost in the Sinai desert.

Update with your piece on the Egyptians Conservative. Sisi is vowing to go after them.

Islamic State insurgents attacked several military checkpoints in Egypt's North Sinai on Wednesday in a co-ordinated assault that killed more than 100 people - one of the biggest militant strikes in Egypt's modern history. Soldiers, policemen, civilians and militants were among the dead.

Islamic State's Egyptian affiliate, Sinai Province, claimed responsibility and said that it had attacked more than 15 security sites and carried out three suicide bombings. Egypt's armed forces said that at least 100 militants and 17 soldiers had been killed. One security source said about 300 militants, armed with heavy weapons and anti-aircraft weaponry, had taken part in the attacks while the army said five checkpoints were hit and the fighting had raged for more than eight hours.

"This incident is a game-changer," an official told Reuters on condition of anonymity.....snip~

Yes, exactly. Bush said the mission was not accomplished, that 'our coalition will stay until our work is done and then we will leave and we will leave behind a free Iraq".

It was later claimed by Obama that he was “leaving behind a sovereign, stable and self-reliant Iraq, with a representative government that was elected by its people.” The ignorance of Barry Obama can only be exceeded by those who voted for him.

He could have organized a Coalition to wipe them out before they began taking over the region and murdering, raping, beheading, etc, in the process.

But Obama would rather decorate the White House in rainbow colors, or increase racial tensions at home.

Post 9/11 Bush needed a big pile of dead Muslims to present to the angry American public in order to secure his second term. They couldn't find the guy they had chosen as being responsible for 9/11 in Afghsnistan and the Taliban were elusive and difficult to kill in large numbers. Doing nothing more would have been electoral suicide for Bush. Iraq was the perfect patsy. They had blotted their copybook before so it was an easy sell given most Americans couldn't even point to Iraq on a map anyway. It worked a treat. Bush got his second term and anti Muslim vengeance was served. Lets be honest nobody in the US really cared what happened in Iraq after that because it had served its purpose. The aftermath is what we see today

PS. The Russians 'saved all our asses' long before you lot got seriously involved in WW2

Heya Sherman, Those border crossing between Iraq and Syria do need to be taken and closed off from Daesh. Same with the one on Turkey's Border.

I think BO should make that known to the Europeans and give a big hint with who he wants in on it. Then get the Iraqis up there to stand and hold them. Even if it means some Special Operations troops stick around to make sure the Iraqis hold.

Naturally some other objectives should be taken on at the same time. The physicality of Daesh should be given a major blow. Coordinated attacks from several different countries and the destruction of Raqqa, commenced on the same day. The Demoralization then can begin.

Wrong. Isis was never there to start with; they were not even formed yet.
