Greece is widely expected to miss its 1.6 billion euro ($1.8 billion) payment due to the International Monetary Fund on Tuesday, but one British man is hoping a bit of pocket change can help pull Greeks out of their misery once and for all.

Young Londoner Thom Feeney has launched a crowdfunding campaign to raise the entire 1.6 billion euros needed to cover the country's repayment shortfall within seven days.

The "Greek Bailout Fund" campaign on crowdfunding platform Indiegogo.com was launched one day ago and has so far raised over 134,000 euros ($150,000) from more than 8,500 people. This was up from around 10,000 euros at the start of the morning.

This crowdfunding campaign is cash for a Greek bailout

Why would anyone wnat to the Greeks anymore money?

I've always felt like I'm not wasting enough money....

700000€ from 40k funders so far.

What a fantastic idea!

How much is his management fee and where is he going to take the money? I'd go for one of the better hotels in Crete.... and some of the bars.... maybe even help out by buying a porshe over there, just to keep the ecconomy going....

Well he certainly covered his rent payment.

They're already eating out of dumpsters. You want them to starve? Pay your fair share.

Yea. Everyone pony up !

You know, so they can buy more Che Guevara flags to wave at anti-austerity demonstrations.
