Truth be told, the Stars and Stripes flew for over 80 years while Slavery was legal.

Allot longer than the Confederate flag flew.
Well, SC's secession declaration documents said the abolitionist movement had been going on for 25 years and that it had reached a pinnacle when the abolitionist president got elected and said, "I believe this government cannot endure, permanently half slave and half free." that was the final straw.

The Stars and Stripes might have flown but it never represented slavery.

I think it was independence from the tyranny of the North.

Just as Springfield, Illinois celebrated the election of its favorite son to the Presidency on November 7, so did Charleston, South Carolina, which did not cast a single vote for him. It would seem that the reason for session was the election of Lincoln, not that slavery wasn't in some people's agenda for that, but the actual reason was Lincoln....NOT the revision now being pushed by the very group, that back then were among the people calling to preserve slavery to the south....

Ain't it great how dishonest liberals are today?
And why did they oppose Lincoln? Because he was an abolitionist.

    You think?

Go read a history book or an academic website and come back and answer the question.

Who on earth said this? Can you try to formulate ONE argument that isn't based on either a complete strawman, or complete bull****? Just once? Do it for me.

That's the next logical step, wouldn't want anyone to open a book and be offended.

    Sounds something like:
The Confederate flag represented the states that fought in the War of Northern Aggression, not slavery.

The north didn't start the war. The South started a war of aggression (treason) to keep the institution of slavery, so their flag represents what they fought for...slavery.
