Funny the North never seemed to have problem with Slavery unti the South wanted to secede.
I mean if they were so opposed to Slavery why did Lincoln wait until 1863 to emancipate the slaves ?
Truth be told, the Stars and Stripes flew for over 80 years while Slavery was legal.
Allot longer than the Confederate flag flew.
Well, SC's secession declaration documents said the abolitionist movement had been going on for 25 years and that it had reached a pinnacle when the abolitionist president got elected and said, "I believe this government cannot endure, permanently half slave and half free." that was the final straw.
The Stars and Stripes might have flown but it never represented slavery.
