Gov. Haley to call for removal of Confederate flag from Capitol grounds [W:154]

Should the flag be moved-removed from all State Buildings?

What's really sad about all this is that the shooting in SC had nothing to do with the confederate flag. But people with agenda's made it about that in order to try and further their agenda. Instead of...you know...actually addressing the actual real ****ing problem.
By all means, describe the "real ****ing problem" expressed in a racially motivated shooting of Blacks in a church.

it's totally the flag... the flag is the problem.

yessireebob.... flags make people racist and murderous.
Interesting, that is 2 who can't state what "the real ****ing problem" is.

PS....I never said the flag in and of itself was the "problem", but then some folks are enamored with straw.

It is as ridiculous as if the state of Texas flew the Mexican flag. Sure, lots of Texans have ties to Mexico and it used to be Mexican soil, but not anymore. If individual Texans want to fly the Mexican flag they can, but it would be ridiculous for the Texas government to fly it.

I feel the same about the Confederate flag. But if they want to look like a state of traitors then it is their choice.

This new "state shaming" tactic seems to be the new liberal move. if any state makes a religious law or flies a flag they don't like, get ready to get bad mouthed and threatened with economic collapse if the behavior isn't QUICKLY corrected.

oh, these are such fun times

Yes, the true victims here are the states who do stupid things! Those pesky libruls!

As always, it depends on whether the person complaining and the person flying the flag is left-wing or right-wing. Even in Texas.

For example, a school principal in Texas was ordered to take down a Mexican flag he flew at school...and leftists pitched a fit because of that.

And that was wrong. He flew it on the flag pole of a public school. And I can say that because I try to be consistent in my stances. I wonder how many who are in favor of the Confederate flag took issue with the Mexican flag being flown.

Yessireebob, symbols don't actually mean anything and have absolutely no influence on anything at all which is why stomping on an American flag has absolutely no meaning.

The first the Confederate Stars and Bars

The second the current State flag of Georgia

My apologies for missing this post.

What I am talking about are these two... And including theses was purposeful.

if the flag is not a problem.. why are people whining about it as if it is?

the "real" problem is multifaceted... but i do know it has nothign to do with a flag.

thanks for killing off an argument I didn't make... good job!

Speaking of which, I was told by a forum member recently that burning the American Flag only makes it more meaningful. I'm pretty sure that member has left-wing leanings.

the flag of Hawaii has the union jack in it... is that OK to fly?.. or is that somehow different?

It should be removed. The Confederate flag should have been taken down the day after the war ended. It represents and enemy nation and enemy of the United States of America, of which South Carolina is a state in. The flag represents an enemy combatant of the Union and it's disgraceful to have something like that on any state capitol honoring such a past or on any state grounds. You can have your heritage and history and be proud of that, but it has no business being on state grounds or flying above a state capitol.

I would try to explain it, but it would be pointless for me to waste my time doing so. If you are really interested you can review my posts from today where that very topic has been addressed.

So....you are 'stangs puppet?

I'm sure it was a compelling story.

sorry, that's not a valid response.

Oh, man!! You must really hate some people here if you suggest people read the drivel you've been posting all day. That's torture, dude!!

Posts 126, 127, and 128 all in a row. Tell me Gimmesometruth, just how could there be "2 who can't state what "the real ****ing problem" is when only one poster responded to your post to me by the time you said this?

Anyways, here's a few suggestions from the top of my head.

1: Don't give drugs out that can cause psychotic breaks, hallucinations, etc etc.
2: Expand our mental health capabilities (ex: able to keep actual mentally deranged dangerous people in mental hospitals) and hospitals.
3: Expand our knowledge base into WHY these people act the way that they act and treat accordingly instead of just half assing it.
4: Get rid of the negative mentality associated with snitching. Get people pro-active on letting proper authorities know of possible mental health problems with people that they know.
5: Educate people so that they can do #4 properly.
6: Get rid of the stigma associated with seeking mental health help.

This guy was an obvious candidate for a mental health institution considering the drugs that they had him on. For all we know that is exactly why he thought the way that he did.

Yeah...it was DRUGS....and MENTAL ISSUES....because, after all, we have your expertise in evaluating mental health....and you did a drug test.

The only one you are even close on is:

Expand our knowledge base into WHY these people act the way that they act and treat accordingly instead of just half assing it.

But it is dealing with folks who hold to racial intolerance, you know, like those that like to parade around with political paraphernalia associated with racist ideology.

So you deny that he was on a drug which sometimes has a side effect of psychotic breaks and that he was on that drug due to mental health issues?

The only one you are even close on is:

Expand our knowledge base into WHY these people act the way that they act and treat accordingly instead of just half assing it.

So you don't think that we should do 1, 2, 4, 5, and 6? Why? Why are you against not giving mental patients drugs which can cause psychotic breaks? Why are you against expanding our mental health capabilities? Why are you against getting people pro-active in reporting people that they know with mental health issues? Why are you against educating the people to help them recognize those with mental health issues? And why are you against getting rid of the stigma associated with getting mental health treatment?

But it is dealing with folks who hold to racial intolerance, you know, like those that like to parade around with political paraphernalia associated with racist ideology.

So you want to limit free speech and blame inanimate objects instead of actually addressing the real ****ing problem. Gotcha.
