The comment was tongue in cheek. No matter, we aren't Venezuela, Greece, Spain, Italy, France, Cuba or Argentina. We don't have their cultures, their languages, resources, economies, histories or governments. Get a grip.

No one, especially Sanders, is suggesting that we literally follow Scandinavian nations or any other nation.

Ahh yes, the envy argument. Go-to response from the conservatives. Just handwave everything, don't actually refute anything. Just say attack the character of the opposition.

To refocus on the OP: Bernie Sanders is drawing large crowds, more than even Sanders expected. Agree with him or not his social, economic, employment, international and political positions - which are consistent with his voting record - resonate with a growing number of Americans. The evidence of that is undeniable.

Sanders spoke in Denver to what is may be the largest crowd of any candidate to date in the campaign. Sanders, once ignored as not having a chance is now being taken seriously. That is what the OP is about.

I would say the second coming of George Bush and his Unitary Executive.

Sanders is more like a Singaporean socialist than anything out of Scandinavia. I actually do like some of the things he says, mostly that a long, long time ago, the US should have just owned and worked its own natural resources and paid for things (budgets and all that, remember budgets) using this for-profit model, leading mostly to lower taxes on all of us, much less regulation, however, there's that little thing about socialism that still creeps back up into the conversation, and that's corruption, and of course spending spree politicians. We get that with capitalism as well, and it IS the problem, but I think it's still fair to at least mention that in theory a nation with a vast amount of natural resources should use them to the benefit of the entire nation, not just those that would otherwise have controlling interests.

Frightening just how far Left the Democrat Party is (not that it's news). That said, Sanders has no chance against Clinton and this is all much ado about nothing.
