You don't know that for sure...that is quite an assumption. Frat guys are the macho type as well. Gun owners come in all shapes and sizes.

In August Texas will join Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Mississippi, Oregon, Utah and Wisconsin in allowing concealed-carry on campus. http://www.nytimes.com/2015/06/03/us...mpus.html?_r=0

You ever hear the story of Jesus and the money changers at the temple?

There are certain activities that are inappropriate in Gods house...bringing weapons would fall in to that

Do I really even have to SAY this after what happened in Charleston? and that isn't the first time it's happened.
Then hire an armed guard to stand outside the church. Don't defame a holy place by bringing in tools of death. I can't believe I even have to say this.

Would you let your daughter wear a miniskirt or would you let your son wear Bermuda shorts to church? Some things just aren't appropriate in a holy place

As for drinking, its already illegal to drink and carry, and I know 40 years olds where you could say the same.

Its not impossible to purchase machine guns, they just have to have been manufactured before 1986.

I guess not. I am pro gun rights, and I'm for concealed carry. I just think it's incredibly tacky and disrespectful to bring a weapon to a place of worship.

I never stated you did - I stated you ( the USA)has a gun problem.
Well some things are regulated, and others are not.
Do you favor no gun laws?
If my post offends you, I deeply Apple-O-Jize.

Well now that is impressive. Why don't we change the age to 16 for gun ownership and allow them to carry in the high schools? After all, some of them are pretty good hunters by then. This is not going to help a thing...the more that do it raises the risk. This is absurd.

Gosh, I did not know that.

Actually, I'm pretty confident that by many years and many students, I have more knowledge and experience with college students and their environment than anyone else here at DP. This is what I mean about your leaping to conclusions.

Because I posted "My decision to own a gun affects only me...," you assumed that I am a gun owner, one you found disturbing because I'm a blowhard paranoid. I don't own a gun. Now you're going to spout inane generalizations about macho frat daddies and how gun owners come in all shapes and sizes because you've had a couple of nurse gigs on a college campus? Spare me. Oh, and don't patronizingly call me "hon" either.

    Please. Just don't.
