Off-Duty Cop Fatally Shoots Ex-Wife In Front Of Daughter

Meanwhile, an innocent woman is dead, murdered in front of her 7 year old daughter, which to me is a more important component to this than all of the political dick measuring going on in this thread. I hope the guy never sees sunlight again.

You may now continue your pointless political posturing.

It does seem premeditated but any man who does this can get it knocked to 2nd degree with the right lawyer. "It was heat of the moment, he just went to talk to her", etc.

The Union should absolutely stay out of this because it isn't a police matter in that he was acting as a police man. He was acting as a crazy ex-husband, something we sadly see too often. I think he will get the book thrown at him pretty quickly, as he should.

Damn, can you imagine that poor daughter watching her father slaughter her mother? What an asshole he is.

AND the Police Dept should stay out of it too.

They really can't. They arrested him. It's their case, just as if he was a plumber or a trash collector or a doctor who did this.

I should have been clearer. I meant they should not protect him. The Blue Wall should not be a factor in this case. They should make it clear he acted as a private citizen who committed a murder, and will be treated as such.

I agree with this 100%.

I just can't see they will do anything otherwise. This seems so clear cut.

I wouldn't be so sure. Cops have walked after doing worse.

Sometimes, it's just the opposite. Sometimes, LE are held to a higher standard and made an example of. That very thing happened to a small town Chief of Police who was accused of molesting his stepdaughters. He went to prison and it wasn't until years later the stepdaughters admitted their mother asked them to lie, because they were in the middle of a divorce.
