South African Court Said to Block Sudan Leaderís Departure

    http://www.nytimes.com/2015/06/15/wo...=top-news&_r=0

JOHANNESBURG ó A South African court issued an interim order on Sunday to prevent President Omar Hassan al-Bashir of Sudan, the only head of state wanted by the International Criminal Court on genocide charges, from leaving South Africa.

The International Criminal Court in The Hague had called on South Africa to arrest Mr. Bashir, who was attending an African Union summit meeting here in Johannesburg. It demanded that the South African authorities ďspare no effort in ensuring the execution of the arrest warrantsĒ issued by the court against Mr. Bashir, who is suspected of having ordered atrocities in the conflict in the western Sudanese region of Darfur.
I say they let him fly back to Sudan.
    Thoughts are?

Holy tits... I don't think this will go anywhere though.

I think ultimately the decision lies with President Zuma and I don't think it's something he'd be willing to do, since being a terrible president comes naturally to him as well.

Bashir did nothing i know about that lots of others didn't do too. That is no excuse. But it points a finger at us all. We need to have a general application of r2p worldwide.

That will not happen in our lifetimes.
African leaders have stated such for years. It appears most of the ICC cases are against leaders in Africa.
    Rwanda, took decades in courts.

Probably tons is the better measure than dozens.

But that is one main failing of international law and means it is not really legitimate. Law that is not enforced is not law but wishful thinking and Sunday hypocrisy.
