Lol, talking about government efficiency isn't talking about politics. Ok, it was those things in Eisenhower's platform that produced the efficiency you admired. And maybe you were just a kid and it all seemed so wonderful.

Yep. No business is going to take a loss to comply with government regulations. They'll be forced to hike their prices. It's the cost of government interference in the marketplace.

Just remember, it's the same government that didn't notice the Chinese snooping and copying confidential personnel records for over a year that's now going to decide what's best for you and your ISP. Oh I can't wait for the squealing will start. Suddenly, that, what used to be free, Tweet is going to cost you something.
I'm beginning to believe that there really is a secret room in DC, that only a select few have electronic badges to enter, that is routinely used for the sole purpose of finding ways to make life miserable and more expensive for ordinary people. It has to be kept secret, for obvious reasons, because people gossip, and that would ruin many surprises before they are officially announced. More unwelcome changes to our life styles seem to be hatched up there than gets passed into law by Congress, and they aren't even elected - is that what is referred to as the "shadow government" group? Hateful creatures!

    Same question to you, then:

On what timeframe will you admit you were wrong? How much time with none of these fears becoming reality before you are in error?

Seeing as how net neutrality is how the internet has always been working, I don't really expect that will happen.

Also, net neutrality specifically bars ISPs from charging you extra for tweets. That's really the entire point.

Extra regulations & compliance reporting = more cost = higher prices? I'm thinking.

Compliance reporting? You do know that you can test whether your provider is complying with net neutrality from your own home, right? They don't actually need to report it. If you notice your internet being ****ty around some websites, here are a few links to help you check on this:

How to Test if Your ISP is Throttling Your Internet Connection
Glasnost: Test if your ISP is shaping your traffic
How to Test for Bandwidth Limiting by Your ISP: 9 Steps
    Net Neutrality Test

If you find that these tests show that your provider is indeed throttling your connection, I suggest you call them up and find out why you're getting a ****ty deal on your connection. If you won't, then you can thank them anyways for gouging you while giving you a ****ty connection. After all, that's the free market right?

How often has it happened before?

Think back. It's the standard paradigm. To continue to do the same thing and expect a different outcome is what?

It's not assume, it's fact. Compliance cost is always passed on to the the consumer.
