Frankly...if he answers it he will have to spend a few minutes going back through the thread to find out what was even being discussed.

It's not a single issue. Your ignoring the results of the poll I posted.

That's your opinion. There are many healthcare workers, police and fire, military, coast guard, and so many more that would disagree with you.

It's not going to replace public sector employees though, nor should it. It's also not good for employees, as they are typically not unionised, and don't have the benefits of pay and pension that the public sector does, nor that their private sector predecessors had during the hey day of private sector unions in the late 50's. Furthermore, any privatisation of the public sector may give an allusion that it's shrinking, but it's still paid for by tax dollars, so that points moot as well.

The past 30 years have been dismal for labor unions. There is one big exception to this story of decline, however: the public sector. In the Canadian public sector union density has increased from 12% in 1960 to more than 70% today. In America it has increased over the same period from 11% to 36% (see chart). There are now more American workers in unions in the public sector (7.6m) than in the private sector (7.1m), although the private sector employs five times as many people. Union density is now higher in the public sector than it was in the private sector in its glory days, in the 1950s.

I'd agree with you on police, fire and military. Coincidentally they are the few branches of government I believe should be well funded.

But then those are the few groups of government employees who are held accountable and from who results are demanded.

No. I never said that. That's a figment of your imagination because you can only argue with strawmen. I did say that there are issues that many people can come together on.

This isn't a high priority thread. But I am flattered to discover that there are people here waiting with baited breath for my replies.

Like I said...out of your ever present sense of butthurt you had a kneejerk reaction to jump into a conversation...one of which you admit you knew absolutely nothing about.

    Classic.
