Millennials Are Still Struggling to Find Jobs - The Atlantic
Why is it happening this way? Our society seems to be much more prosperous than a few decades ago due to great technological advancement. There are so many ways to earn money by programming stuff or running your internet based business yet it seems like it's much harder to actualize yourself than a few generations ago. What's the reason behind that? How to solve this problem efficiently?

people have to wise up about what's in DEMAND (and not being provided) Low cost housing is one of those demands. If you KNOW an unemployed vet, and if you can get a college loan, (ie, almost everyone) you're able to clear at LEAST 20k per year, just by sitting around your house! If you've got some 'hustle" on you, you can double your income every couple of years, IF you know a few things. :-)

Thanks to our Government giving companies tax breaks to replace American workers these things keep happening. I think it's ironic that Baby Boomers, who squandered the most robust and powerful economy in history, are now looking down on Millenials for not cleaning up their mess fast enough.

How does knowing an unemployed vet help others?
I am of the first of the Baby Boomers, got started without student loans. A rich uncle gave me room and board and 3 years of a good technical education, and even paid me a small stipend/allowance for spending money. I only had to be his indentured servant for 5 years after the 3 years of training.
My kids got their college paid for by their parents, and they are doing well, but worried a bit about their retirement years. I fear for the grandkids, they will have it harder getting good jobs right out of school, unless they learn to listen between the lines when career counselors give them the bad advice that seems to be typical these days....

It's pretty simple. There are fewer jobs and more people to do them. And most of them won't even give someone an interview unless they're already established with several years of experience. Starting out right now is pretty much a coin flip.

Many years established, currently employed, with at least one degree, and btw, the job pays $9.50 hour. Some of this bs will change if/when the job market tightens but for now and for the past 7 years that I know of, it's ridiculous.

Fortunately Obama and the Republicans will sign the TPP. Baby boomers in China and Vietnam can rest easy.

You can blame the job market to a degree but ultimately it's that we're actively thwarting labor in this country. We can't demand rock bottom prices and free products and then complain when no one is hiring or paying good wages. We're in a vicious cycle.

Being a conscious consumer and organizing is the solution.
