Watching it, cop was being more aggressive than he had to and definitely should have handled the situation better. No need to treat kids like that, no need for all the profanity, pulling guns ect. Noone there was a threat. Kids certainly could have listened better, but there are better ways to handle that.

The cop that's the focus of the video clearly attempted to round up as many Black teens as he could see. That much is evident by the fact that off all the people gathered around - both Whites and Blacks - he only goes after the Black kids. Now, before anyone says anything stupid like, "Well, they shouldn't have been mouthing off or being disruptive or disrespectful, etc., etc" the Black boys he makes sit down curbside weren't running or saying anything at the time he confronts them. In fact, just prior to the incident with the teen-aged Black girl, the cop approaches two Black male teens who were walking away minding their own business and he stops them and even places one of them in cuffs. Why? Could this have been a case of racial profiling, i.e., "I don't know which Black person caused the problem. So, I'm going to round up every Black person I see." It's possible...really can't dispute it since the only people this cop seemed to go after were the Black kids. And there were plenty of White teens standing around as well.

I won't claim to know what started this situation to get so out of control, but I DO know that this cop's actions did nothing to de-escalate the situation.
You might want to try reposting the link to that video. This link just goes to a Yahoo search page.

People spend a lot of money to move to McKinney specifically to get AWAY from this inner city nonsense. The cop was doing the community a service

Living in Dallas, I have seen a pattern lately of inner city youths coming to affluent areas to hang out. They need to stay in their own neighborhoods. Too often, they come to nice areas and fight each other, are rowdy, listen to rap music, etc. The cops actions were welcomed.

Your story. The actual residents all say, to a one, that they were, including the fellow who writes a progressive blog and is black himself.

One resident, Benet Embry, a black man, posted on Facebook about the events leading up to the police call. “Look, I LIVE in this community and this ENTIRE incident is NOT racial at all,” Embry wrote. “A few THUGS spoiled a COMMUNITY event by fighting, jumping over fences into a PRIVATE pool, harassing and damaging property. Not EVERYTHING is about RACE. WE have other issues that NEED our attention other flights of made up make believe causes.”

In another post he is critical of media coverage of the incident. “I’ve never seen such irresponsible reporting and miss management of media resources in my life,” he said.

Sure they were. Besides, the pool had rules. Rules that these animals chose to ignore. Arrest the whole lot of 'em and throw them into the system. Let a judge sort it out.

No they weren't. They knew the one doing the inviting was infamous for doing these hijacks. They knew they weren't supposed to be there.

That's one aspect of this thing I haven't seen discussed.

This pool party was apparently being held at the common area of a housing development and a security card was needed to access the pool. I don't know the specifics of this development but most associations limit the size of a party at these common areas to a fairly small number and a limited number of guests. If you're going to have a bigger party then you generally need special permission. Did the organizers have that permission? If not then they, as well as the guests, were trespassing. Furthermore, the LAST thing you want is for your association to be marked as one that is lax on security or a problem area. If you're too passive in stopping small problems I guarantee that you'll have bigger problems in the future and that especially the case with teens and social media.

If this party wasn't approved by the association and the music was so loud that it became a major annoyance to the residents and if unauthorized people were accessing the pool then, whether black, white or martian, those people should have been kicked out and if they refused to leave they should have been charged with trespassing.

The actual party was for the community only and was planned. Some jackhole who is infamous for crashing events like this sent out invitations to crash this one. She's known for it. The crashers jumped the fence.

The crashers saying they were invited is a teenage dodge. They knew they were crashing the party and didn't belong there.

Ok so Black host invites too many people over. White lady gets mad and hurls racial insults then assaults. Cops come and rounds up all the darkies. *scratches head* Guess we know what is more important to that society.
