States Confront Wide Budget Gaps Even After Years of Recovery

Seems to be a backlash within some states between mostly Republicans.
    Thoughts are?
Appears tax cuts did not do the job?

In Kansas, centrist Republicans have joined Democrats in attributing the state’s $400 million budget gap to deep tax cuts passed in 2012 and 2013 at the urging of Gov. Sam Brownback, a conservative Republican.

And in Louisiana, lawmakers in the Republican-controlled State Legislature are in a standoff with their party colleague Gov. Bobby Jindal as they struggle with a $1.6 billion shortfall.

I also heard that Wisconsin is having budget problems, and Walker was talking about cutting into university spending. I am not sure what they decided to do though.

But wait! Tax cuts are the cure for all that economically ails us! We know this because Fox News says so!

Wait! You mean if you cut taxes, spend more anyway, you end up with deficits? Who knew?

In Louisiana even the Republicans are really PO'ed at Jindal because he's going to waltz away and leave the state with a $1.6 billion deficit mess that he created.

But he'll be OK, he'll go into lobbying, or speaking engagements, whatever. That's all that matters, he'll be fine while LA schools, some agencies, etc. will be cutting and scrapping the bottom.

It's not just the bad inept CEO's that ruin their companies then walk away with golden parachutes. Politicians have that perk too.
