DNA Test proves waiter spit in customers drink at Chili's in upstate New York

Re: Waiter’s spit in your soda

I think the majority of the world's problems could be solved by not being a dick. In fact, I think that was the take away message from Jesus, don't be a dick.

It's ingrained in some people.

The scripture says "YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF"

If you're a self-hater, that makes it difficult.

Re: Waiter’s spit in your soda

When I was a waiter....I never did anything like that. But we consistently would have people complain that the "coffee tasted old" (even though I knew that we had just brewed a fresh pot...it was actually one of my things...I always made sure there was fresh coffee)....so when they complained I would tell them, no problem let me brew you a fresh pot. I would then set their coffee aside for about 5 minutes (the amount of time to brew a fresh pot)...I would then put the coffee in the microwave to heat it up and return them the same cup. 9 times out of 10 I would get the "much better" response.

Send back and let them spit in it. That's what happens. I just don't tip for bad service or product.
I tip very well for good service and good food and drinks. Works both ways.

Most waiters have no problem with a customer sending back food it if is legitimately not right. I definitely wanted my customers to be happy. My only complaints were with the ones that were complaining when you knew that they had nothing to complain about. The ones who came in looking for something to complain about so they could get a discounted meal (Believe me...it happens more than most people believe).

That's good. Oh, sorry, that's just normal. But some waiters don't put perpetuate themselves, and sometimes psychology overcomes them, then all their thoughts aren't about workplace and reputation.

My grandfather was like that. Unfortunately, yes, people like that do exist.
