When Obama was elected, I suspected he wouldn't do a very good job based on his beliefs and political philosophies, but with the media carrying water for him like they have and continue to do, I never suspected he would actually be less popular that George W. Bush. To me, that speaks volumes about how poor a president he really has been.

Bush now more popular than Obama
By Jennifer Agiesta, CNN Polling Director

Washington (CNN)President Barack Obama's job approval numbers are sinking as American attitudes about the nation's progress have taken a turn for the worse, according to a new CNN/ORC poll.

A majority of the public once again say things in the U.S. are going pretty badly and disapproval of Obama's job performance has climbed back above 50% as well.

In fact, former President George W. Bush is more popular than Obama.

According to the poll, 52% of adults had a favorable impression of George W. Bush, 43% unfavorable. When Bush left office in 2009, only about one-third of Americans said they had a positive opinion of him. This new poll presents a notable shift as Bush's overall favorability has remained well below 50% for much of his time as a presidential alum.

Must've polled the KKK. You know it's racism. I never really liked him. I just voted for him because of McCain and Romney. He got us out of Iraq. Yeah, he did get us halfway back in, but only halfway. The women love that. He saved the economy. You can get health insurance. Bin Laden is dead. GM is alive, and terrorism is on the run. Yay. My car is better than yours.

Seriously, after a decade of relentlessly attacking Bush, there must be some long faces in the WH and on the left.

Bush isn't president anymore, and he's not in the news every day. Name me a president whose popularity ratings didn't rise a few years after he left office.

Nixon.

Great. That headline is also rather meaningless and dishonest

1) Comparing FAVORABILITY ratings to JOB APPROVAL ratings is comparing apples to oranges and is rather intellectually dishonest. They are in essence, two very different things. Favorability rating is basically, "Do you like a guy." Job approval rating is "Do you approve of the job someone is doing." Those are two very different measures of "popularity."

2) Almost all ex-Presidents enjoy growth in their favorability ratings after they leave office. They don't have to deal with the media, Congress, the realities of governing and executing policy, scandals that may or may not be their fault, etc. All ex-Presidents have to do is stay home, make intermittent public appearances, not put themselves in a position to do something douchebaggy that will be reported by TMZ, and they'll be fine. Look at Jimmy Carter.

3) A better comparison would be to compare Bush and Obama's job approval ratings at the same point in their respective presidencies. Obama's current approval rating is about 47% based on Gallup. Bush, at a similar point in his Presidency, was in the low thirties.

But I suppose it's easier to grab on to a partisan bull**** headline and not do the intellectual legwork to notice that apples are being compared to oranges than it is to be honest about reality.

Don't think Obama could help much of what has happened on his watch. Simple fact is more racially compact ethnic leaders with an ethnic-centric world view of geopolitics and war such as Putin and China were never going to respect a mixed race president and were always going to see him as a weak knee white liberal creation amounting to little more than a tame pet politically.

Like it or not that's how many other powerful nations see Obama. As window-dressing by white liberals. They were always going to take advantage of that geopolitical truth and there was little to nothing Obama could have ever truly done to stop that.

He had to get the hell away from the controls for that to happen, lol. Easy to be popular when you never weigh in (which we're all glad for) staying in your gallery painting portraits and flowers.

That's true, but still...

How popular was Bush-43 in his 7th year--especially when compared to Clinton?

And can rightie conservaTEAs really say with a straight face that the derangement syndromes toward GWB and BHO both were the same ?

Hey, I didn't write the headline CNN did and they are hardly an anti-Obama or pro-Bush network.

They're neither--do you ever watch it?
News minus the snark--which is why Priebus and the RNC still include CNN in their debates .

Jimmuh "Peanut" Carter........."Richard Nixon".

Especially since those folk are now in the GOP--the 4th rise of the KKK .

Humbolt was being sarcastic and what's really sad is, you were being serious. It's a shame that criticism of, and accusations against republicans are the focal point of the democratic party platform to win elections these days.

People are only being sarcastic from the GOP when they're called on it.
Then they backpedal with **** on their face.

StillBallin has already called you out in an outstanding manner about YER dishonest OP.

More lies--GOPs began "swift-boating" HRC on the night of the 2012 election--it's what you people do .

Is this a joke? The entire Republican platform is "not Obama." Holy ****ing projection.

Do what? There was nothing dishonest about my op.

As for Stillballin, hasn't had the courage to engage me directly in a few years. He will dish out the insults, but then runs like a coward... Such an upstanding guy and forum roll model.

The rest of your post was nothing more than your typical babbling.

I don't see why the outlet is relevant. The fact remains that the comparison and conclusion (Bush more popular than Obama) is dishonest, whether or not they're your opinions or CNNs. Would you care to address any of the actual points I made?
