‘Tone-deaf’ Clinton campaign throws kids off playground

I didn't even bother reading it. I'm no fan of Markos Moulitsas.

I'm not either, obviously. But how do you know until you actually read? I know, I know - you read so much of it, throw your hands up in the air, and your done with it. Don't blame you. I don't throw all liberals in that camp, but you do realize that such stuff makes its way into the mainstream and is reported as fact, just as it is with certain over the top right wing stuff.

And we shouldn't think that with nearly the entire Republican Party running for president that with the number of campaign rally's that that will spawn, we won't see events cancelled to make room for some GOPer hopeful? You guys just set yourselves up for exploitation as soon as this same (or worse) thing happens to make room for one of your own. What petty **** people scour the headlines for to run over to DP and post.

You wont ever have to wonder if a republican pulls this, it will be in the news.

As for not liking the thread topic, get used to it, we have a long way to go before the elections.

The students at Liberty University were told they would be fined if they didn't show up at Cruz's announcement saying he was running for president.

The school threatens their student with fines. Cruz had to know, but he went ahead with his announcement anyway. What an SOB huh? He should resign from the Senate and cancel his run for president. Any candidate who would let kids be fined doesn't deserve to be in any political office.
Your phrase, "Cruz had to know, but he went ahead with his announcement anyway", might be a bit generous.

I suspect Sen Cruz picked this venue specifically in-part due to the 'required attendance' policy.

Didn't you find yours in the news? I thought the news was biased left? You'll have three fingers pointing back at you before its all over.

Tell you what, you let me know just when it happens. That will be your job.

Actually, you've never seen me post such trivia. I leave that for those short on wit and long on tongue.

I do think it a bit rude to kick kids off the playground so one can do some political stumping.

Exactly, it's not the end of the world...but booting a kid's event for just another political rally?

Not cool.

I was being facetious. I don't know if Cruz knew, nor do I care. I don't care if Hillary knew about this playground SNAFU, and I don't care. It's petty to the Nth degree.

We all sit around and complain about US politics, and politicians. Then we care about something this petty?

Gives a whole new meaning to the "Let's Move" program, doesn't it?

Providing she even knew that the children would be booted. The city might have determined that the park met everybody's needs that day (Clinton's, City's, and Police). They then booted the children. Hillary is a leading canidate and draws large crowds of the misguided. As result, it is hard for her to schedule any event with out disrupting something.

Bernie Sanders draws 3x bigger crowd than hillary clinton over the weekend

You do realize that your argument admits just how terrible a comparison this is... right? I don't even like Hillary, but comparing attendance at high priced political events, to events open to everyone and free is about as stupid as comparing job approval to popularity.

You may not consider it much, but some do.

DES MOINES — A mere 240 people live in the rural northeast Iowa town of Kensett, so when more than 300 crowded into the community center on Saturday night to hear Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont, many driving 50 miles, the cellphones of Democratic leaders statewide began to buzz.

Btw, do understand, I don't have high hopes that Sanders is too serious a threat to Clinton. American voters and all.

There is no comparison. To suggest so is absurd. Do you compare attendance to clubs that have cover to a restaurant open to everyone in order to determine popularity? Of course not. Two entirely different demographics of people attending each event. Please stop this, it's silly.

Iowans don't like Hillary-they can read her like an open book and dont appreciate the scandals and her lack of credibility. Its the same reason she did so poorly there last time she ran-and she's arguably running a worse campaign, and with fewer coming out to see her this time around.

Oh my god! They had to move playing with blocks to October! But they can play with blocks in July too, because the same event is happening then! More FAUX outrage!

It's just not a good idea. I don't think anyone is outraged, but I think it shines an uncaring light on Hillary.

Considering how few people are attending her events, she probably would have been better served to have just shown up and done a photo op drop in with the existing crowd.

Agreed. That lack of interest suggests she won't be our next president.

It suggests the drones dont care about her. It doesnt suggest they wont blindly vote for her.

That is true. Im still suspicious of a dark horse candidate-someone who will sidestep public scrutiny and give the gruberites something to clap wildly about.
It all just depends. She is such an unappealing character but the drones will still vote for her. But if she cant get ANY appeal going, even with someone like Castro or Booker on the ticket (it just depends on which minority group they feel they need to pander to the most), then its a sure bet they will throw her under the bus just like with Obama and will pick someone else.
