Time for UEFA to start flexing its muscle.

Time for UEFA and US to leave with it's money. Watch FIFA fail overnight.

Yep they would be ****ed. He may rely on African support but its not their money that is flowing in.

Here's a great article with all the reasons we should be supporting Sepp Blatter

We needed to do this a long way back once it became obvious how these other nations gained support from FIFA. I suspect overtime the majority of this will get swept under the rug but we are really talking about epic levels of obvious improprieties and dubious conditions over the years. I'm very shocked it took this long for something to come out of it, and somewhat surprised at the reelection win here given we are just at the beginning of FIFA controversy fallout.

Trouble is it's a World Football organisation and other parts of the world have different views on Blatter. I read an article a while ago on how some countries made complaints and were silenced by FIFA throwing vast money into construction of facilities. Here, facilities are built from a range of sources so our loyalty is not bought off.

Nowhere is Sepp Blatter's support stronger than across Asia and Africa. So why did most of the representatives from those two continents vote for him again?
Here's about as succinct an answer as you're going to get - from Amaju Pinnick, newly elected president of the Nigerian Football Federation, talking to the BBC on Thursday: "Blatter feels Africa, he sees Africa and he has imparted so much - a lot of developmental programmes.
"Without Blatter we wouldn't enjoy all the benefits we enjoy today from Fifa. What Blatter pushes is equity, fairness and equality among the nations. We don't want to experiment." Link.
I also don't see UEFA countries leaving the World Cup - the only thing that will make real change is the huge Western sponsors leaving because FIFA gets vast amounts while giving them access to world wide advertising.

While Blatter is clearly corrupt it's a joke to think whoever finally replaces him one day isn't going to be just as corrupt. The purely International nature of FIFA and the sport in general means FIFA leadership knows full well no one country can ever truly regulate it legally or financially. It will always dock its boats in corrupt third world harbors as it has always done.

I still don't understand how African, Asian and OFC don't get that? They get those checks because American companies like VISA, Budweiser, Nike, McDonalds, and Germany's Adidas pump $25m to $45m a year into FIFA just for World Cup sponsorship. FIFA just lost Castrol, Continental, Johnson and Johnson, Sony and ironically Emirates this year before the arrests. Then the TV rights US and Europe pay.

Oh I know how it works.. but if the money ain't there the system won't work.

I think they would if they knew they had support. UEFA countries for the last few years have said they've had enough. Germany, England and France (by way of UEFA president) have all said if Blatter was elected again they'd leave. UEFA has it's own tourney that makes money and they'd be happy playing every 4 years on their schedule and they don't have to be bothered with changing European scheduling for 2022.

Sponsors are gonna leave. VISA can't be seen connected to bribery and fraud. Nike can't be seen connect in kickbacks and the other big boys don't need the World Cup as they are world brands already.
