    ...sigh...nothing changes.

    Fallen.
It makes me sick to my stomach that this evil bastard has been re-elected.

All we can hope for is that he is going to be arrested and locked up by the American authorities for his crimes against the game of football and all other crimes I have no doubt that he is guilty of.

He might actually be the ringleader of a criminal empire and in my dreams I would hope the rico act could be used against him.

And after his arrest and imprisonment I hope a new generation of morally sound leaders of FIFA is chosen.

Now how about this for a thought..

UEFA and NAU (Mexico, US and Canada) all leave FIFA. UEFA extends invite to NAU to join UEFA and starting in 2020 they can join the UEFA Cup system. UEFA gets the big boy sponsors. South American countries see this and decided, money is over here and our players can't play in Europe anymore because we aren't a member of the new org. South America joins and you can run a 16 team tourney every 4 years plus local tourneys.

The question on everyone's mind that must be answered: Did everyone make way for Prince Ali? Did they ring bells and bang the drums?

Players aren't going to be satisfied testing just against other European nations - you want to play and beat Brazil, Argentina etc.

I'm only going to be convinced when those sponsors actually leave. I have a horrible feeling most will stay but I hope to be proven wrong.

Like I said.. South America could join if it wants. What you are assuming is players have a choice.

FIFA has lost 4 sponsors since Jan 2015 over issues with corruption.

What you have to remember is I actually agree with you on the corruption at FIFA and the need to sort it out. I just feel the sponsors have to come under so much more pressure before they walk away. Gazprom is not going anywhere and I have a feeling other Russian energy suppliers could step in for the short term (to cover Russian World Cup) which means things will calm down.

Visa have said all sorts of stuff - demanded sorting out corruption but they are still there. For some of these companies, they are looking at losing worldwide publicity vs a temporary bad reputation. People have been talking about corruption at FIFA for years but these companies are still there - some since 1970.

Regarding the South Americans joining with a Europe breakaway - it would be great but again, I can't see it happening. (Yet) Jeffery Webb was head of football in the Americas and he will still have contacts, people he bribed and countries who he steered funds for.

On another matter completely - here's a shocking graphic of recent sporting construction events.

Has to be noted the one death at London wasn't actually construction related - the guy had a heart attack in his cab.
