Fifa corruption inquiry: Sepp Blatter defies calls to quit

Fifa corruption inquiry: Sepp Blatter defies calls to quit - BBC News

Uefa agreed at its meeting on Thursday to throw its weight behind Jordan's Prince Ali bin al-Hussein, Mr Blatter's only challenger, in Friday's vote.

Mr Platini said that if Mr Blatter won, Uefa could hold an extraordinary meeting in Berlin at the time of the Champions League final.

When asked if this could include withdrawing from Fifa competitions, Mr Platini said: "We will raise all possibilities."

Pressed on the possibility of a World Cup boycott, he said: "There may be proposals. I honestly don't wish that."
So there you go, if Blatter stays a possible European boycott of the next world cup? Why doesnt he just take responsibility and leave?

Probably not, too much money at stake. (Which is the problem in the first place.)

    The answer is very simple.

He knows if he steps out that office, any successor is likely to go after him.

He's just trying to buy time and see if he can minimize what can be found after he's gone.

This is all about money, the idea he had nothing to do with any of this is absolutely laughable, he's a sack of excrement and so is the entire FIFA organization.

But again this is all about money, and with the money we're talking, some people are gonna die over this whole thing you can guarantee that.

A lot of "accidents" are gonna occur.

FIFA has had so many corruption complaints over the years, he is not innocent.
He should, along with all at the top be sent on their way.
An ethics committee, with the power to compel testimony from any and all members of FIFA should be in place.
Failure to testify, then you are booted from FIFA for life. or till 1 day after they receive a copy of your death certificate. Whichever comes first.
BBC Sport - Fifa report 'erroneous', says lawyer who investigated corruption claims

Speaking to BBC sports editor Dan Roan, he added: "Before that statement by Mr Garcia, I was saying that it's very difficult to have confidence in the conclusions of Mr Eckert's report and that it looked like a politically motivated whitewash.

"Now that I have seen Mr Garcia's statement, I am absolutely convinced that the report is a politically motivated whitewash."

Garcia's statement will embarrass Fifa and raise concerns about the work of Hans-Joachim Eckert.

Not only on public perception and reputation, but cops simply won't want to police these neighborhoods anymore.
The shooter was later found to be white.

Crooks don't usually take responsibility. They'll deny, deny, fight, and cry to the bitter end.

It's sort of like, "I did NOT have sex with THAT woman!"

If the Europeans actually boycotted the World Cup, sponsors would desert by the score. Unfortunately, it will never happen.
