You can ask the Sunni villagers who were massacred by Maliki about that.
    Oh wait--you can't--they're dead.

And you wonder why common-folk Sunnis went over to AQ and IS .

The success or failure of Syria isn't Obama's responsibility.

Yes, it would be just like it was between the years after the Gulf war and Bush's invasion, which was magnitudes better then it's been since.

Five years of Bush's training and equipping the Iraqi security forces. Another USFP failure.

I'm gonna float an idea I've had for a while comparing ISIL to--Spartacus and his Gladiators--or even the 300 Spartans.
They were superior to their enemies at least 100-1.
They could only be defeated by treachery in their own ranks.

With the recent mosque suicide bombing in SA by ISIS in the last day, it's obvious to me only the SA Sunnis can stop the ISIL Sunnis.
The best we can do is sell SA weapons as with Yemen.
While holding Iran and Israel at bay with agreements, and reject McCain's calls for boots on the ground.
Enriching the MIC should make enough people in D.C. comfortable as we head into our own election .

That sounds pretty reasonable to me.

Stability? The country was being racked with sanctions. The Kurds were being systematically exterminated. Shia were being oppressed. The devil indeed. Had Bush decided to let him stay there would be no end to your criticism of his policy.

Why didn't Bush put pressure on his NATO ally Turkey with respect to the Kurds ?
